I believe in real moments. In the kind of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest moments together. I believe these images should be preserved in beautiful art to be hung on your walls for years to come. With each passing day I realize just how quickly my kids are becoming more independent and will one day be on their own.
Over the past ten years, I have photographed hundreds of families in the Houston area. I believe my job as a photographer doesn't begin and end at your session. I oversee the entire process from the moment you hire me as your photographer to when I deliver your final products to you. As soon as I receive your contract, we'll get started planning for your session.
Hi! I'm Karla and I have been in the photography business for ten years. I specialize in photographing newborn, maternity and families. I graduated from Texas A&M with a business degree and later received my masters in business. After spending ten years in the corporate world I decided to follow my passion and that's when I started Brittany Avenue Photography (named after the street I grew up on).

We had a great experience with this photographer. She accommodated our last minute request for a newborn session. We hadn't planned in advance to do newborn photos, but realized we wanted them as soon as we brought baby home. She helped us with every step of the process and gave us some beautiful images that we will cherish forever!

Karla took my daughter's newborn pictures and I was amazed. First, her talent during the session is truly unique. She was so soft and peaceful when working with her. I told my husband she was "The Baby Whisperer!" When we got our pictures back we were even more amazed. They were so perfect. We were so happy with her work that we have asked her to do our son's pictures in April when he is born.

Karla is wonderful with newborns! She was so easy to work with, flexible with the schedule and very poignant. She came to our home to do newborn photos of our son and is basically a baby whisperer; she has some great techniques for keeping the baby calm and quiet. Our pictures were natural and captured our family perfectly. She made us all look great after just an hour of sleep the night before! Highly Recommend!

Karla has taken my family’s pictures for years. I love the locations she chooses with beautiful, natural lighting. Despite my oldest feeling uncomfortable in front of the camera, she has always been able to get amazing shots, capturing her natural smile. She had photographed both my kids as newborns and throughout various milestones- we have a great variety of outdoor and studio photos that we will always cherish. She works well with kids of all ages and is a baby whisperer (she can get my babies to sleep for photos when I can’t).
One thing that I really love is that she gives us advice on how to dress and also has a studio wardrobe available to use if you’d like.
