Love the Mushroom fried rice, it's my favorite!
My brother said their egg rolls are the BEST!

General Tso's Chicken Sauce was kinda flavorless. Beef fried rice was great though.

Why is this place called "Egg Roll House?" Shouldn't that denote exquisite tasting egg rolls? That was not my experience. In fact, I received very basic shrimp egg rolls wrapped in greasy wrappers. I've had better out the freezer department.

The General's Chicken was OKAY. It was more sweet than anything. The chicken was decent.

The shrimp fried rice was a 4/10. The shrimp were large and cooked well. Oddly enough, there was no green onion (hugely disappointing).

The crab Rangoons were awful. The filling is SO thick and not creamy like other places. It was a thick

I drove past this place and realized I came here right before Hurricane Ida blew through. It looks like they suffered a ton of damage with the hurricane. I hope they can be back in business soon!! I'll write and post a review for them anyway.

This Chinese restaurant may have been the cheapest in the Metairie area! The building might look kind of old and a bit dive-y, but that's where the best food is sometimes! We went through the drive-thru and it was easy and quick.

We got an order of kung pao chicken, seafood lo mein, and chicken egg rolls.

I order the sweet and sour chicken with shrimp fry rice.By the time I got home with my order was wrong and the rice was burn. Next day I went for refund. Their were looking for a new chef. Sing posted. That place is been there for so long and now suddenly is lacking. 😔🤔 hope their improve their business better.

There was a carpenter ant or some type of bug in my lo mein. It was near the top so idk how they didn't notice it when boxing it. I know it was just a simple mistake but it definitely needs to be fixed with maybe an exterminator for the bugs. The food was bland from bite I did eat. They did give us a full refund for our whole order.
Also food wasn't expensive but not worth it after finding a bug.

This place is edible at best, lo mein is off white in color with zero flavor. Egg rolls no flavor, no pork options. Maybe other options r better but chicken lo mein, sesame chicken , and chicken egg rolls r not worth it.

The food is decent but my God the building is filthy and all of the structure is falling down.The drive up window is filthy and you can't see inside I never thought Jefferson parish or the dept of health would allow this.I picked up food for someone else but honestly would never eat from here based on the condition of the building.Going through the drive up is like driving through a obstacle course.They now close on Sundays!

Their food is great. Everything I order is good. The portions are plenty and their egg rolls stay stay together when bitten.
Staff is fast and friendly. And with them just offering drive thru or inside pick up, I'd order online with them or call your order in. I fed 6 people for 32.00.
Only downfall is their drive thru is small, so no bigger trucks. But they do carry out.
I'll definitely be back soon.

This is a terrible restaurant, the food is old, the entire restaurant smells like a bathroom, and the staff is openly hostile. While I was there, I actually witnessed the staff harassing customers in the parking lot who had the audacity to buy food at the egg roll House and then go over to Shake Shack. Personally speaking, I would far rather have Shake Shack over this b*******

The staff was nice and the prices are good but the food is very mediocre. There is little flavor to the shrimp fried rice and egg roll and the mandarin chicken was very different from any mandarin chicken I've ever had. The sauce was thin and tasted sweeter than normal. The chicken was more of a popcorn chicken than the regular chopped slices. I won't be going back but the restaurant may work for others.

If you choose this place to eat with so many other great options nearby, you have made a poor decision. The ambiance is out of date, the food is questionable, and the service is decent. Make a better decision.

I ordered and enjoyed the chicken egg rolls and crawfish spring roll but there was too much oil on the spring roll. My hubby got the general tso's and lo mein with veggies. He hasn't eaten the egg rolls in a while but said they were good back in the 80's when he lived in the area.

I couldn't help that the place needed a serious make-over. It looked like something from still in the 80's.....very hideous. Suffice it to say, the food came out very fast and fresh and the people were very friendly.

The food is actually really good for being a drive-thru. Everything seems fresh with quality ingredients. The shrimp fried rice that comes with the meal has large, juicy deveined shrimp. The veggies are bright and crisp. The meats always seem fresh and of a good quality. It's very convenient if you're in a rush to drive up and come away with restaurant quality food in about 5 minutes or so.

Gave this place three tries since it's close to where I live but the food is rushed, bland and has nice life to eat. It's a filler until you can get / find something better. Yesterday I was sick with a cold and craving Wonton soup. I ordered From here and visually it was nothing but three (3) dumpling with old brown lettuce, and juice was nasty. I threw it in trash. And felt compelled to write this review.

Mistook this place for Hot Wok, which I like to order on Waitr. Grave mistake. The sauces are bland and watery. The generals chicken has no batter on it. The rice is brown rice. The egg roll has the consistency of styrofoam. This is terrible. Just threw away $45 worth of food.

This establishment caters to Third World country clientele. I’ve never seen such a high rating on a place with food this bad. I posted a picture of their name sake dish, the illustrious eggroll. And while it might look disgusting, and have the texture of stale pizza, you cannot even imagine how bad is thing tasted. This is one of those places that you look at and say "hmmm". Don't knock it til ya try it. Definitely has a good flavor. You get a good amount of food. My only complaint tonight, is, i ordered 2 shrimp dishes. One came with chicken by mistake. But, it was still good. We order on Yelp and the food was prepared when we got there. It wasn't cold when we got home

I should have known not to cheap out on sushi but I did it on desperate college student night. Tbh I was surprised I did not get a stomach ache because the crabmeat in one of my rolls tasted rancid. The quality of the raw fish was expected but I thought they'd be a little better because even buffet sushi had them beat on that too. I might go back to try their Chinese dishes but def do not order the sushi. Usually I try to eat all my food even when I dislike it but I did not just dislike the sushi, I felt it was not good for my health to eat.

Normally, egg roll house is my go to Chinese spot. I live right down the street and love the food here. Tonight, my experience was extremely irritating. I always call and place a pickup order. Did it like I normally do, and proceed to the pickup window to pay for and pick up my food. I arrived at 8:51 to see the lady behind the register sitting while playing on her phone. She looked at me, then looked back at her phone. She did this multiple times until finally at 9:03 she came to the window to ask if I was picking up an order.
