Lifestyle in-home sessions are my photography love language. It feels like such a gift to be invited into a client's home to capture the real, authentic moments that happen when families are most comfortable. How it works is I'll come in and check out the light in your home. It doesn't matter if you live in a house of glass or a dungeon - don't worry - I will find the light.
Then I will ask your family to show me the spots in the house where you spend the most time doing the things you love - maybe reading on the couch, snuggling or jumping on mom and dad's bed, eating donuts around the kitchen counter, or having a dance party. Whatever it is - you do you! And I will do my best to play along with your tribe while also staying at a distance so you feel like you can interact authentically.

Hi, thanks for stopping by. My name is Mick and a lot of people ask where that nickname came from when we first meet. It's nothing too fancy - when I was little, I used to say "Mick Me Mouse" instead of Mickey Mouse and some family members started calling me Mick. And some family members call me Missy, and still others call me by my formal name "Melissa".
From weddings to families, I've had the pleasure of working with some of the best people. My hope is that my joy of capturing memories for them cultivates joy in their experience with me. Mick is SO GOOD at what she does! She is so easy to work with, and our photo session was lots of fun! She arrived at the location early to scope out the best spots to capture the MN fall colors which really helped us maximize our time with her. Mick is the absolute best family photographer! Her calm, cool and fun personality makes for such an easy photo session. She did my maternity family photos and they came out amazing as well as our newborn photos. We have a big and busy family with a 3 year old, a newborn and 2 dogs. She captured our entire family perfectly! She has such an eye for detail and creativity. I feel like each of our photos tell our story and I especially love all of the fun candids! Mick is absolutely wonderful!! She has done two family shoots for us and she was our wedding photographer. The pictures Mick has taken of my family are in almost every room of my home and I will cherish them forever! Other than being a great photographer, she is also a joy to work with! She's organized, patient, flexible, creative, and produces wonderful photos. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

Mick shot our daughter’s wedding. She was nothing short of AMAZING! She was there from sun up to sun down. I have no idea how she did all of the shots she did because it seemed as if she was always visible to me but then there were wedding party pictures that I was not aware of.
Mick’s passion, & love for love, comes through in her work. She loves love in all forms & is so easy to share your special memories with. I wish we lived closer so we could do our annual family portraits with her.

We love Mick! She has done our family photos twice and both times the pics have been beautiful. She somehow makes everyone so at ease that she captures the spirit of our fam perfectly. We have done mini sessions with her and I love that we get an awesome selection of pics and my kids and husband are happy because it's quick and easy. Her communication before and after is fantastic and she is quick to turn pics around - only a few days from shoot to getting your photos. Can't say enough about how great and easy it is to work with her!
