Ava Susan Powell is the daughter of Gillis E. Powell, Sr., the founding partner of the firm. She is a native of Crestview, Florida, and graduated from Crestview High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee and her law degree (Juris Doctor) from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, in 1982.
Ginny G. Powell is the youngest daughter of Gillis E. Powell, Jr., and the granddaughter of Gillis E. Powell, Sr. She was raised in Crestview and graduated from Crestview High School with Honors in 1997. A graduate of Florida State University, she earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, Cum Laude, in 2001, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Florida State University College of Law in 2005.
Our founding partner, Gillis E. Powell, Sr., was a lifelong resident of Northwest Florida. He grew up in Crestview and had strong ties to Walton County, where he often attended court as a young child with his grandfather, Judge A. R. Campbell. He proudly served his country in North Africa in World War II, achieving the rank of Major.
Powell, Powell & Powell provides legal representation to clients from two offices in Okaloosa County, Florida. Gillis is my husbands attorney and I have to say although our case is still on-going at the moment, Gillis has to be the best attorneys I’ve dealt with. I have hired and fired 3 previous attorneys. Gillis was the only one that showed compassion and you really felt like he does care. He keeps it real with you during the entire process and he don’t lead you to believe things that he knows ain’t going to happen. He is an all around excellent attorney and I have faith in him handling my husbands cases. I would definatly recommend him

After a car accident in 2014 I called and met with Ginny. Ginny guided me through the process that ended up taking just over 4 years. Ginny supported my many doctors to find the problem with my back that eventually lead to a fusion. She fought for me with my health insurance that wanted the majority of my settlement. Now with a second accident a week ago, I am going back to Ginny.
