My favorite restaurant in the capital district. The staff is a plus always pleasant and I'm never disappointed. I go every Saturday or Sunday for a Western Omelette and home fries and they are the best. Thank you all. See you next Saturday. We are located in Troy, NY and proudly serve visitors from Rensselaer, Albany, and the surrounding areas.
Residents from Albany, NY visit Alexis Diner for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our menu is full of classic favorites to signature dishes that you will only find here. Very disappointing. It was our first time here......and probably our last. I ordered the Alexis Burger which is supposed to be 16 ozs. My wife got a Mushroom Swiss Burger....both were the same size. We both ordered Medium.....got Well done. No flavor on the burger at all, they didn't even toast the roll. The macaroni-tuna salad was the worst.....the pasta was way overcooked and had to much mayonnaise. And like the burgers.....no flavor. I've been to alot of dinner's in my day, but this was very disturbing.. I thought Greek's knew how to cook......I should know, my first boss was a Greek and would

There is a very good reason why they get voted as a too rated diner year after year. It is consistently good The service is good, the food is good, they get to know you and treat you like family, which is great.
It's often busy, it's no secret it's good, so get there early before meal time rushes. When you arrive Check the specials board or ask about them.
The vibe is busy, shiny, neon and effervescent like a busy busy diner should be.
The new outdoor spaces are great. I really like the patio.
Check out the dessert area, and fyi the cheesecake is very good.

WORST experience of my life. So degrading and belittling. We mentioned the Rye bread. It is tasted like white. I simply said, "For future reference maybe you should let the customers know that you've changed distributor". We continued to eat our breakfast. This was not the waitress. Suddenly she was at our table yelling, see this is the bread, shaking a bagged loaf at the table. As she started to leave, I was almost in tears and said, 'That was not necessary". She came back and yelled again. I am a regular customer but no longer. I can handle the wait time but I will never be humiliated like that

Nice diner, met a friend for lunch. Tables were spaced out so we didn't feel endangered when we ate inside. The food was very good but they did not have any non-dairy choice for my coffee. Service was good and quick and the staff is very pleasant. It has a large and varied menu . I will go back but I have to bring my own creamer.

Spacious diner with cushy booths fitting six comensals and an al fresco section, weather permitting. Bowls of water for dogs outside. Clean, modern bathroom. Delicious American fare, served promptly. Gumballer in the vestibule. Friendly staff and ample parking. On October 10th, 2021 the Rensselaer County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location during his second gubernatorial campaign.

Hysterical. I am laughing hysterically. This is the best diner as voted by the residence of the Capitol region? What? It has to be a joke. I mean no one really eats here more than once, right?
Because we came tonight at the behest of a family member who used to go there.
So much was wrong with the food....Where to start?
Well I guess at the first sight of the clam chowder. It was literally yellow and gelatinous. And? Awful. Let me be clear: Awful. Yellow. So yes I had one half a spoonful. And. Yes. Awful.
The family member ordered a burger that came charred, dry &

I have eaten here and used them more recently because of quick easy pick up and hot good food but this Saturday, June 19, was quite different. We ordered two chicken Caesar wraps. One without onion and tomato and one with everything listed. Both came without onion and tomato. The main issue was that the wrap was really a fold over and had no resemblance to a wrap. Thankfully we were going home to eat as we had no utensils. When I tried to review them on their website they denied my review because "it appears I was not a member of the family". Really I didn't wish to join anther

I stopped here out of desperation because it was memorial day and every other place had over an hour wait. Out of hunger, I figured a diner was a safe bet. I'm not a diner fan to begin with (due to the fried, greasy food.) I got a lox omelet and protein pancake stack. Overly salty. No milk alternative options for my coffee, (just mik.) The pancakes weren't cooked on the inside and tasted sour. I took one bite and didn't touch the rest. I should have complained and requested it to be removed from the bill, but the waitress and staff were so kind that I didn't want to be a hassle

Oh Alexis! Great food! I came here with my boyfriend while visiting his family. Apparently this is the best breakfast place in town.
It was a bit of a wait because it was so busy in the beginning. But not too bad, like 10 minutes. We were seated and then the server came around to take our orders, they offer mimosas! So that's what we ordered.
Servers here are just going through the motions. But they're awesome. They're just so busy all the time .
I believe I ordered some sort of classic breakfast, with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. It was so good. But there was so much food

Every time we stop here it is friendly, clean and great food. During the covid things are challenging, they were out of a couple things but over all excellent! I always keep coming back. This trip I had the Ruben with soup and those great fries, my husband had a burger. Also had the tapioca pudding.

As the Covid scare is winding down and we entered phase 2 of the reopening , we went to the Alexis diner for breakfast we sat outside on the porch at social distance. We were served by a very friendly staff and Alex the owner stopped by to thank us for the support , my wife ordered the french toast and her being a connoisseur of french toast stated this is the best I ever had!, i had my goto breakfast of eggs over with bacon homefries and toast , the home fries were seasoned and cook to order they are the best in the Capital Region, our friends had omlettes and Waffels all in agreement that this

My girlfriend works as an RN in the ICU with covid patients. We had one morning together this week because she's worked 6 days in a row and decided to order breakfast. They messed up her order, so I drove back to the restaurant to get the correct food. When we got it home, the English muffin and bacon were burnt and the home fries were hard and undercooked. Plus my food was cold and soggy after the two trips to the restaurant. When she called to complain the person on the phone said, "what do you want me to do about it?" Eventually she offered to have it delivered to us. But who

Ok, so I travel a lot for my business. I have family in the Albany area including Troy. Over the past many years I have gone to the Alexis Diner for mostly breakfast and have enjoyed it. The food is great, the portion size is near family style and the cost is in the middle. Over all the value is good.
However, I have diabetes and because of some personal issues, it got out of wack and I gained weight.... not a lot, but enough that my doctor said, loose the weight, get it under control or we have to look at other means to control it.
Great !!!
I have cut the carbs down to almost nothing and

Sad to say it was not as good as I remembered. Maybe because it hasn't been renovated or updated since then. It does get a great deal of business. But my current experience would cause me to believe it's not warranted or justified. The are far better dinner experiences in the capital district. Don't believe the hype, ir get lured in by their commercials. Place that are truly great don't need to advertise, it's all about word of mouth. My word of mouth is it was just ok. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I was expecting to really be in for a treat, but

I stopped in for lunch togo. The service was amazing, the lady quickly took my order and the wait time was only 10 minutes. Not bad in my opinion during the lunch rush! I ordered the tuna melt with fries on the side. As a standard, they include cole slaw and a pickle! I enjoyed the meal. The bread was evenly buttered and toasted and the tuna salad was well seasoned. Would come back again!
