It would be an understatement to say that family businesses are the backbone of the American economy. Some 90 percent of all businesses in this country are either family-owned or family-controlled. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors, representing all sectors of our economy.

From agriculture to services, technology and manufacturing, family businesses generate an estimated one-half of the U.S. Gross National Product and pay half of all wages earned in this country. Not all family businesses are traditional small businesses either. In fact, about one-third of all businesses included in the Fortune 500 are family businesses.
Michael L. McCafferty has practiced law in Wichita, Kansas since his graduation from the University of Kansas School of Law. He is a founding member of Wealth Counsel, a national organization for Estate Planning Attorneys and a member of the Wichita Bar Association. He recently served as President for the Wichita Estate Planning Counsel.
Who are the Important People in your life? Beginning with yourself, they also likely include your loved ones: your spouse if you are married, children and grandchildren if you have any, perhaps your parents, siblings or other relatives. Beyond these, however, "Important People" also could include charities, special causes, colleges or universities, or churches to which you are committed.

Have no complaints about service or advice. He has been handling Trust work on my brothers estate for a year now and I have retained him to help me handle the Trust now that it is active and I'm trustee and executor. Don't trust this kind of work who doesn't specialize in estate and trust work and he is good.

Positive: Professionalism
I've had to work with Mike on a few occasions acting as DPOA for his clients. I feel Mike does an excellent job with carrying out the final wishes of those who put their trust in him. I highly recommend McCafferty Law.

My favorite lawyer, if there can be such a thing Mike and his team have helped do LLC's for several of our businesses and a will and family trust. His team is who i would turn to for all your business and estate planning needs. Can't recommend highly enough.

Mike and his paralegal, Sandy, were so knowledgeable and helpful. Mike took the time to explain my options and help me determine what would be best for my situation. He and Sandy are friendly and approachable, and very professional. I have referred friends and family to Mike for their estate planning needs.

Reached out to McCafferty Law requesting a consultation regarding a probate matter. After no response via the website, I called directly and was asked many personal questions without any introduction or questions about the reason I was calling.

After recording all my personal information, I receive a nonchalant voicemail the next day advising "the firm was swamped" and I should "go call the Wichita Bar". Swamped?

Clearly my case did not fit the standards or profile for McCafferty Law. I now know a fancy website does not insinuate professional service.
