The food was not at all what we expected. The queso fundido was served on a plastic plate. For the price of a queso fundido we expected like other places for it to be a good amount. It barely made 2 tortillas. The food unfortunately did not have much flavor at all. For my 6 year old and 10 year to say the meat was not at all great, that says a lot, they are total foodies, eat anything and everything. We love to venture out to new restaurants and unfortunately will not ever be coming back to this place. First time and last. Service was not at all the best either. We sat to the left of the restaurant

Strong margaritas and food was good.
Attentive and fast service and decent prices.
Don't come here for the chips and salsa though. I tried both red and green and both Too watery. Rice and beans were average but taquitos came with tons of guacamole and sour cream and kids meal of burger and fries was tasty (Curly fries served).

Best food ever! I worked here as a Hostess / waitress through High School into college. I ate there again the other day after years and the food is still great and so is the service. Best Mexican food around, great atmosphere and great customer service! I ran into people I worked with over 25 years ago and it was awesome. They treated me like family and they always treat everyone like family. I was sad to hear Roberto passed away but I know Beto is still running the restaurants in El Cajon and La Mesa. Great place don't hesitate to try it!

Had a visit to LaMesa and wanted some mexican food. They have their own parking lot which is very nice. The interior looks great but I was looking for something to go. The order was taken promptly with great suggestions when asked. After a short wait I was out the door with food in hand. It tasted great, with decent portions.

Went for celebration of grandmothers appreciation day with around 25 family members from 5 generations. This place welcomed us as if it were they're own family. Nothing but love for marieta's. Great food great drinks and the 2 gentleman serving us were awesome! Prices are very reasonable for any budget and ill be back for round 2

Was disappointed. The restaurant was almost empty and the service was slow. Asked for a straw and the server never came back with one. I had to go to the bar to get it. The food was good until I noticed the guacamole was turning black. I had already ate some. Yikes! Parking is not good as well. The bathrooms we're dirty and smelled bad. The restaurant is old and worn out. We won't return to this restaurant.
