Dr. Ronald Armstrong purchased Platte Woods Animal Hospital in 1993 and his son Dr. Tyler Armstrong joined the practice in May of 2015. We are exceptionally proud to be a family run business that thinks of all our staff and clients as extended family. Here at Platte Woods Animal Hospital, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice in Kansas City. We know you will be very happy with our services. 1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. Platte Woods Animal Hospital understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through the Care Credit program.

A Good Samaritan brought Toby in as a stray cat who was injured, malnourished, and scared. He suffered traumatic injuries to the pelvic area, which had become very infected and subsequently infested with maggots. We cleaned out his wounds, removed the maggots, and got him started on antibiotics immediately.

I wanted to give ZERO stars. I hade to give at least one star to leave a review.
I do not suggest using them. My final experience with them will haunt me forever. If your dog is sick please don’t take them here. I cannot describe how disgusted I am. Long story short….. my dog died while in their “care”, which I was not expecting at all.They carried her out to my truck in a garbage bag. Put her in my truck like she was trash. Not one of them. Not. One. Said a word to me or my husband. Not a word until someone asked how I would be paying. Honest to God, not one word. Not one “I’m sorry

Got nothing bad to say about this company. Always treated professionally. Clean environment. They work to get you scheduled quickly. Always costs me at least a hundred dollars to take my dog there 😐. Not saying it's unreasonable but my average visit costs me what many take home after working a 40 hour week...

I just took my 14 week old French Bulldog for our first vet visit together here and we saw Dr.Tyler Armstrong. He was very helpful and answered all of my new dog mom questions! He assured me of his experience with frenchies and made me aware of any concerns I may face in the future with this breed. Vinny seemed to do well with his exam and shots.

I am bed-ridden, so my awesome daughter-in-law has to take my fur baby to the vet. My precious Gizmo is a beautiful long-haired dachshund & he will be 19 in August. After having a lot of blood work done, his kidney function was a little high. Of course, I was terrified about it! But Dr Tyler called me & answered every question I had! He never made me feel like he didn't have time for me! He explained everything in detail, & even bragged about how good his blood work looked, especially for his age. Amazing service when my pup needed a sick visit. For his condition I was prepared to pay top dollar, but the vet was able to diagnose my dog in a way that saved us time and money. He was very informative and explained things in a way I could understand. His nurses were all amazing and listened to everything I had to say! Would 100% recommend! And will definitely go back!
