First visit for a quick inspection and double check of my tires. they were awesome. initial setup of appointment over email was very easy and they were quick to reply and help me schedule as well as polite and professional. dropping my car off was also very quick and everything was explained to me thoroughly. i never once got the impression the person helping me was talking down to me or bsing me at all. once they called me about the repairs it was also explained very well to me exactly what was wrong and the pricing was very fair. highly recommend and will be back!

I don't know for how many years we've taken our vehicles to Towne Motor Car but we don't need to go anywhere else. They do what is needed, they inform you about what they see, and ask if you if you want to proceed. By that, I mean, my last two repairs were 1) transmission lines needing replacement - I saw the loss of fluid and Towne said it was simply lines, not the whole transmission, 2) brakes - I heard the tell-tale grinding on the rear passenger side. They called to say the front were thin too and asked if I wanted them done now. I knew that the front brakes were at the end of their usefulness

I worked with Aaron and Chris at Towne Motor Car. I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend these two gentleman. They looked at my daughter's car for me, gave me options and were very honest. They are profession and have integrity . I am very grateful. Originally I took my car to the dealership for service but when the estimate was for more than $5,000 I decided to get another opinion. I found Towne Motor Car and from reading their feedback from previous reviews I decided to give them a call. Not only was their estimate thousands of dollars cheaper but they gave me a priority list of what needed to be done and when. I feel much better about my vehicle after visiting them.

My friend who knows a lot about cars and fixes his own recommended that I go here. It’s where he takes his car.
I had an inspection done and everything was good, they just recommended new tires before winter. My second visit was yesterday because something was hanging down under my car. They replaced the eroded holder and put everything right underneath, for $59. I'm very pleased with the service!

Great shop, saved me hundreds of dollars!! After a disappointing visit to the dealership Towne Motor Car came highly recommended by a colleague so I requested an appointment online and received a quick reply. Dropped off my car on the way to work and picked it back up before the end of the day. They kept me informed every step of the way and for a fraction of the cost I was quoted elsewhere.

I have a higher mileage car, that I plan on keeping for a bit, and I hate when things aren't working right.
I try to do as much as I can by myself (maintenance, oil changes, etc), but my car recently needed a new clutch. Towne Motor Car had me in and out of there in two days (this includes getting the parts, pulling the transmission out to get to the clutch, replacement of the clutch, reassembly, and testing). They've taken care of all of the bigger jobs that come with owning a vehicle for a longer period of time.
My car feels like new, and I'll continue to trust Towne Motor Car

A waste of time. After much research, I thought that Towne could be trusted for repair work. I made an appointment online with the expectation I would be contacted as described in the instructions. When I was not, I called to get some clarification. Aaron was disinterested, and told me "Chris" would call back. This was a Friday and the appointment was scheduled for Monday. When there was no call or email from this garage, I had to assume the appointment was cancelled.

I was a little reluctant to have to find a new mechanic knowing my vehicle wasn't going to make it out of the city limits to my normal one and was referred here by a few friends (plus I pass it regularly on my way to Founding Fathers.) just calling to make an appointment they were friendly and knowledgeable and pretty much diagnosed over the phone what I thought the issue was. They called me by 9am with the final diagnosis and estimate along with an additional estimate on tires that I knew they might suggest. There was no pressure whatsoever so I just went with the throttle body repair

Went here today in the recommendation of a coworker. All I needed was an inspection, which was overdue. They asked if I could come in right away ( yes! ), and off I went. As soon as I entered I was greeted and asked to take a seat, grab a magazine, turn on the heat? It was chilly) and just wait a bit. They took my key and off we t my car. Less than 15 minutes later, I had my new sticker. They made suggestions for

We were driving through Buffalo to Niagara and had some issues with our Honda. After calling some local Honda dealers (and being told they couldn't help us), we fortunately stumbled on Towne.
Aaron, Chris and the rest of the crew were fantastic! They took great care of our van, and gave us priority knowing that we were on our way out of town again the next day.
Hertz rental cars across the street was helpful, too! They expertly diagnosed our problem, fixed it, explained it, and sent us on our way. Very reasonable price and completely fair and honest.

Being new in Buffalo, when I realized I had a slow leak in my tire that needed fixing, I was nervous about finding a reliable, trustworthy auto shop, as the auto shop industry can be very hit or miss. We decided on Towne Motor Company and were very impressed. The staff was very friendly and completed the job in no more that 15 minutes, even without an appointment. Hopefully I have no more car issues during my time here, but if I do, I will definitely be returning to Towne.

I've been going to Towne for about 15 years now and don't plan on ever going anywhere else. When we moved a few years ago to the 'burbs we thought we would try a garage closer to home and immediately regret it. It's worth the extra miles to know you're getting honest, fast, reasonable, and reliable service from really talented mechanics. It's the only place I recommend to anyone anymore.
By the way - they have employees that are as loyal as their customers, which says a lot.
They're also great at the "tell me what it sounded like" puzzle... somehow

Finding a mechanic you can trust is difficult. I have always brought my Jeep to our family friend mechanic back on Long Island, but since moving to Buffalo, I have been hesitant about bringing my vehicle to anyone in fear that they would completely rip me off and suddenly notice that I need this this and that and in the blink of an eye my bill is in the thousands. This was not the case at Towne Motor Car. I was having a fuse issue with my car, the windows were not working and doors would not lock. I called Towne Motor Car, explained my issues and within two days they were able to service my Jeep

My Dad had been taking our families cars to Towne for years, so naturally when my car's lease expired and I decided to buy it out, I started to take my car to them too.
I've always had issues with mechanics. Felt like they weren't honest with me about the work my car needed or feeling as though I was over charged. Not with these guys, while they aren't the least expensive in town, their service is more than worth what you pay. They are honest, and completely willing to take the time to talk to you about any of the work they are doing with your vehicle. Several times dropping

So, I'm a new car owner. I don't have much experience and, frankly, I can't wait to get rid of the car I'm driving. But that's just me.
But, when I had a recent failure on the part of my alternator, Towne Motor Car was there for me. And they did a great job. I don't feel like they overcharged me and, considering they had to send someone out to me (as my car had died a block and a half away), they seem incredibly courteous and wonderful. I had a good interaction with them and they were helpful and friendly.

I'm updating my assessment of Towne to five stars. Since my first interaction with them, they've also fixed my back license plate lights and my glove box handle. Both times, they were quick, polite, communicative -- and really affordable.
Plus, they're right near Merge and a quick walk to Cafe 59 and Spot on Delaware, making it very easy to leave your car there and go get some work done in a cafe, or just have lunch with friends while you wait.
Thus, these guys are now my go-to mechanics in Buffalo!

Jerry, the owner, has a great reputation, and he always did good work for me. Prices were on the high side, but reasonable for a higher end place at this location.
Then, like another reviewer, the new front end guy Jerry put in place (Chris) gave me a bad feeling. I think at one point I annoyed this guy. About six months later, I am 100% certain he recommended expensive work that didn't need to be done. In fact, I had another mechanic lift the car and show me the specific parts that Chris said were shot , and show me why they were only 20% worn. I didn't do the work Chris recommended

My father and family before me went with Jerry at Towne Motor car for years. Until I started servicing my own vehicles there, the anecdotal account would have it that the same problems needed to be fixed over and over on his cars. I suppose the reason we all stuck with him so long is that Jerry is honest, friendly, and professional. The shop is technically competent; they get the job done, in my experience. Jerry personally guarantees their work; if you went out of town, and something he fixed broke, he would go out of his way to make it right.
