All appointments are 30 minutes, providing the doctor time to thoroughly examine your pet and communicate with you. Your pet is an important part of your family, and when he or she is ill, you want the best medical care available. The veterinarians and staff at Cornwallis Road Animal Hospital are ready to provide your pet with cutting-edge veterinary medical care. From wellness exams and vaccines to advanced diagnostics and complex surgical procedures, your dog, cat, or ferret will receive high-quality care at our hospital.
We know that there are often multiple treatments for one condition. Depending on the patient, one or more therapies may be used together (medications, surgery, acupuncture, physical therapy) for the best outcome and reduced side effects. A relatively new form of medicine is being utilized for humans known as "Integrative Medicine."
We want your pet to live a long, healthy life, and we understand that maintaining a healthy mouth is part of that. Over time, plaque and tartar can build up. The result is bad breath, reddened gums, and other common signs of dental disease. As dental disease progresses, other signs can include drooling, discomfort while chewing, and loose or missing teeth.
At Cornwallis Road Animal Hospital we are proud to be on the cutting edge of medical technology. Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool that we use to look inside the body in a completely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of the body's organs. In other words, using radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pet's body that we otherwise could not see.

Easy to book appointment. Great Covid policy. Doc and tech sat on the floor with my dog the entire visit. He was calm and happy the entire visit. Professional and straightforward about what my boy needed and we were out with all shots and vaccines up to date in a very reasonable amount of time. Couldn’t be happier with my choice.

After calling for a cost estimate for a neuter, we decided to leave our old vet and take our puppy here, as the neuter was (supposedly) going to be much more affordable at Cornwallis. However, when we went to pick our pup up from surgery, the neuter ended up being more than 5x what they quoted over the phone and almost $500 (far above average). It seems whoever gave the quote over the phone was giving inaccurate information, but nothing was done by Cornwallis to address the issue and we were forced to pay far more than is average for a neuter. If I was a business owner, I would honor an estimate

Cornwallis Vet has been the most responsive and most helpful vet I have ever been to. With an active pup with a sensitive stomach I have called and/or texted for more advice than you could imagine. They have always been responsive and gotten me in ASAP if they thought that was the best course of action.
I would highly recommend for quality, affordable, and timely care in Durham.

Recently moved from NYC to NC and as a dog mom I had to find a good vet for my pup. Cornwallis Road Vets are truly the best! Although we haven’t met personally I know they are loving and take good care of all their patients. They’re very understanding and always make time for their patients whether it’s for last minute appointments or simply responding quickly to emails. I highly recommend them to anyone with four legged children because after all, our pets become family and they deserve the best! Thank you Cornwallis vets and keep up the good work!

I can't say enough about this Vet Hospital. We recently moved from Fl to NC and needed to find a Vet for our English Bulldog, Lola. We wanted someone who had experience because Bulldogs tend to have health issues. Dr. Edwards and the Staff are AMAZING! I treat Lola as my child, she's my world and no matter how many times I call the office with questions/suggestions regarding Lola's health, they're always so helpful and caring!
I am definitely one of those crazy dog moms but they never treat me that way, they show Lola so much love and truly care for her well being. I am so happy we found them
