I am an owner, and had this company manage my rental for a year. Jim is an absolute nightmare and actually screamed at me on the phone several times. I cannot imagine what they are like to rent from. My property was left with extensive damage when they turned the key back over to me after a year. No effort was put in on their part to help fix the damage or recoup the enormous loss to an historic property. They are the worst. Particularly Jim. I have never felt I could give a good review for a rental I've had that was owned through a management company... until now. Because of financial hardships through the pandemic I had to vacate my lease per the terms provided. This included 30 days advance notice and the refund of my deposit. I felt those were simple things I could come to terms with and just take the hit. Melissa and her team have been nothing short of amazing. Not only was I able to get out of the lease early, I was surprised to find a refund check of my deposit after I moved out. I cannot say enough nice things about these folks

This is the worst agency I have ever rented from. The woman in the office is extremely unorganized and constantly ignoring tenants. They fail to communicate with their tenants when constant problems are occurring. At one point I had a homeless man living in my laundry room.
I did not feel safe in my home and that is why I moved!

I've lived in an Ellis building for almost a year and a half, and I've been very happy. When I had a garbage disposal issue, I got a very fast response from the staff, and maintenance took a look at it first thing in the morning. Melissa in the office is always quick to answer emails, and I feel heard. Appreciate your effort!

I'm very happy with the management staff. The building I live in is comfy, warm, quiet and safe. My neighbors are awesome and there isn't a lot of people coming and going in this secure environment. I used to smoke, but after they made this a non-smoking building, I actually quit! It smells better in here now also. The online tenant portal makes paying rent and submitting maintenance requests easy. Any time I have a maintenance issue they are literally here the very next day to fix any problem I have. A friend of mine who works in property management keeps telling me that I am getting an amazing

Melissa and the entire staff are outstanding! They respond to any needed maintenance requests almost instantaneously, and have our problem fixed within 24 hours. The apartments are nice, clean, and well maintained. I have been so impressed with Ellis Real Estate. Highly recommended! If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Ellis is AMAZING. You won't be sorry renting from them. The management is incredibly reasonable and willing to work with you to find a great home for you and to make sure it is in great condition. Maintenance is friendly and timely. I think all, if not most, of the buildings are pet friendly. They love rescue pets and love tenants that foster animals.

I was a tenant of Ellis for three years, and they are absolutely wonderful. I was so sad to leave my place. Many wonderful memories were made there. Melissa was always so easy to work with and SUPER quick and responsive. I locked myself out once and had a new key within 15 minutes... when does that ever happen!? Anytime I put in a maintenance request, it was always taken care of that day or the next morning. When moving, they made the transition easy as well. Very appreciative of them putting up with me for three years.

I am glad to see so many positive reviews for Ellis Real Estate, as I am in total agreement! I have rented apartments from varying individual owners and agencies since 2000 and can say without question that renting from Ellis has been my best experience so far. I have rented my apartment from Ellis since they purchased this block of buildings a few years ago from a single owner. They have proven time and again to be friendly and efficient in responding to all tenant needs. They are able to remedy most maintenance requests the same day or within 24 hours. Their rent prices are also very fair. However

I've enjoyed being a tenant of Ellis Real Estate for the past two years. Maintenance is quick to respond and communicate timelines in the event that something goes awry. NO complaints. They are nice, friendly, attentive and understanding. Always quick to respond, with kind, helpful advice. I was nervous to call about a backed up sink, scared it would be my fault or the huge bill would be sent my way, but they simply called someone and had it fixed by the lunch hour. I feel extremely comfortable calling and asking questions, placing request or simply asking their advice on home care. Highly recommend! Thanks so much!

Had my first call to maintenance last night, with our ceiling in the bathroom leaking at about 2am. I left a message on the voicemail, and woke up to a repair crew at just before 10am. Fast response, the guys seem to know what they're doing and fixing the plumbing instead of just patching it. The response time was much better than I had figured it would be. I'll update again in a few days once I see how the fix is holding up.

Bought the building I was living in, jacked up the prices exponentially with little warning, and then hired the absolute worst maintenance crew I've ever seen in my life to take care of the building. If there was a problem, they'd send someone in (without knocking usually, which is always nice) to patch up a hole that would usually fall completely apart sometime soon thereafter.
