Services
House calls are recommended for birds and exotic animals that are difficult to transport. Examples include birds that are not used to being handled, and large species such as miniature pigs. House calls are ideal for larger collections of animals, such as breeding facilities, aviaries, and fish ponds.
Our receptionists will ask if you prefer curbside (in your car) or in-person (in a room) at the time of scheduling. Please know that in-person appointments are NOT guaranteed. We have a small number of rooms that can be used right now and even if you request in-person at the time you schedule your appointment, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to come into the building.
Curious and complex, rabbits make fun and entertaining animal companions. Running, hopping, sniffing, nibbling - rabbits revel in exploring their environment, so it's important to provide them with a home that is fun and interesting but also safe. Regular veterinary care, a good diet, and proper housing will help keep your rabbit happy and healthy.
Prefer your furry, cuddly friends in a small package? Not quite ready for the time commitment of a dog? Guinea pigs make great pets: mild-mannered, sweet, and adorable! They're fairly easy to care for, but, like any pet, they do require some special care, as well as regular veterinary checkups, comfortable housing, and love and attention from their owners.
Faster than a speeding bullet! Able to leap furniture in a single bound! Bounces from one surface to another effortlessly! That's right - it's a chinchilla! These adorable little creatures can make delightful pets for the right owner. Chinchillas have delicate skeletons and love to chew on things like electrical cords, so a safe environment is essential.

I went to Avian and Exotic when my pet was sick. I trusted them with an exotic because they claim to be very knowledgeable, however they made a terrible mistake that cost my pets life. Instead of owning up to it, knowing malpractice, they acted like it was a rare incident that was my pet’s fault. In my grief I was still billed over $800 for their mistake. Do not recommend them at all. I would caution against taking any pets their during crisis or anything beyond routine checkups. If I could give zero stars I would.

I’ve been taking my reptiles and exotic pets to Avian and Exotic for 20+ years. The vets a re professional and caring, the support staff are excellent. Would highly recommend if you have an exotic or non-traditional pet (or are considering one). Dr Dan even coached me on caring for my very first bearded dragon before I got him back in ~2001 (and he lived to an extremely old age - for a beardy anyway). Always appreciate everyone here. Keep up the great work!

This office did an exceptional job of caring for my little dude on what was probably the worst day of his life. They were able to schedule me in for an emergency appointment to see him immediately and performed his life-saving surgery directly after his exam. His post op care and suture removal also went quickly and easily. They have my eternal gratitude. If you have birds, take them here if you can. I haven't found anyone better to keep their health in top form.

My Leopard Gecko had a bit of stuck shed in his eyes so that meant a quick trip to the vet. This was our first visit here and if anything comes up again, it won’t be our last. He was able to get the shed removed and had a full physical. They were so gentle with him despite his skittishness. They took great care of him and we were able to leave within half an hour. Thanks!

I adopted my mini pig Charlie 2 months ago, he just turned 4 months old. He started having seizures about 4 days ago and I called everywhere and everyone and they all turned us away. Finally I was able to reach A&E and they got us in right away after hours. I traveled 2 hours and Dr. Dan and Mrs. Sandy waited for us until we got in. They were very attentive and showed they genuinely cared for Charlie and I, since honestly I was a mess- anxious and worried about my baby. They took the time to examine and provide him the attention he needed. They sent us home with everything Charlie needed and showed

I was a first-time patient with a new pet, so there's always some nerves that come with that but there was no need to be! The facilities were very clean, the staff were friendly and professional, and everything from basic care to the examination procedures were explained clearly and understandably. I grew up with guinea pigs, but I still learned something new and was happy they took the time to review things I may have forgotten. Overall I was very happy with my visit and will definitely return for our next check-up!

I bring my chinchillas to Avian and Exotic and have always been very happy with my experience. Dr. Sokolik is one of the kindest and most empathetic people I've ever met and it means so much to have someone like that caring for your beloved pets. She will care for your pet like it is one of her own and is always available to answer my questions, give me updates, or even just be a supportive shoulder to cry on. Even when it has been time to say humanely say goodbye, the team at Avian and Exotic have always gone above and beyond to keep both my pets and me comfortable. I feel very fortunate to have

I took my bunny Vivian to this clinic to get spayed… my baby was thriving and everyone including the staff at the clinic loved her dearly! They all took amazing care of her while she stayed there and she came back home a very VERY happy and spoiled bunny. Unfortunately, due to unexpected health complications that no one could predict, my baby girl passed away from what we assume to be a blood clot. I got in contact with the clinic to inform them that Vivs would be unable to make it to her follow up and the staff got back to me ASAP to give me their condolences.

I could not ask for a better practice to take care of my reptiles. If it wasn't for Dr. Sokolik and her team my Tegu would not be here today. The doctors are compassionate, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond for your animals. They take their time examining your animal and answering your questions. I always left the appointment well informed and understanding what to expect.

They seen My Pei Pie on an emergency..I was pleased with the care. If you take your exotic pet here be prepared to pay the bill before treatment. Dr.Dan was very thorough with the diagnostic procedure, prognosis, and treatment.. He suggested he be hospitalized for the night, but allowed me to take him home and explained everything I needed to do for my baby.. So I'm a monkey nurse for a few days. This will be Pei-Pie's East Coast Dr.
