Nathan (Dave) Kunes has worked as an Engineer on complex projects for more than 25 years developing electronics systems. His early career was spent at Allied Signal Corporation designing test equipment for the Patriot missile system. Later, he worked at AAI in Hunt Valley MD, leading IRAD projects to develop survivable electronics packages used in hard target munitions.
Android is an open source operating system based on Linux which primarily runs on mobile devices. Android apps are written primarily in Java for touchscreen devices. As of Q4 2010 Android is the most widely used smarthphone platform though recently it has seen use on televisions, game consoles, and other electronic devices.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, has awarded multiple Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts for a wide range of engineering, technical, and programmatic services and solutions. NKI is the recipient of one of these awards. Scope: All aspects of professional support services required by the contract-specified clients.
