Services
Dr. Colleen Schook grew up as what some call a "military brat", which allowed her to move around and live in several states growing up including New York, Alaska, Oklahoma, and Nevada. She returned to New York to finish her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at CUNY Hunter College on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Dr. Allison Hinsberger was born and raised right here in Boulder. She grew up taking advantage of all that the mountains have to offer, camping all across the American West in a VW camper van with her family. After receiving a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Hinsberger relocated to San Francisco.
Bishop and Takemoto proudly served the Boulder community for over 30 years. Dr. Naomi Sever purchased the practice mid-2016 and Drs. Bishop and Takemoto continued to work in the office for the next year to allow continuity of care for patients and pass along their knowledge and love of dentistry. The practice was founded on principles of extraordinary patient care and high quality dentistry.
Our office utilizes some of the best modern dental technologies to provide the highest quality dental treatment. Here's a few examples of what we have available in our practice. Increased Patient Safety: Digital x-rays expose patients to 70% - 80% less radiation than conventional x-rays. This is hugely beneficial to the long-term health of patients, especially pregnant women, or patients who are already suffering from illness.

Very positive first visit to establish care. Easy checkin (online new patient forms, scheduling, appointment reminders, etc), gentle/quick x-rays, thorough exam, friendly KNOWLEDGEABLE staff. Look forward to future routine visits and hoping I don’t need more work but if/when I do I am confident I’ll be in good hands.

Dr. Colleen Shook understands her patients are humans - - not robotic dental school mannequins and doesn't lecture or get up on a dental soap box. YAY ! She is caring, kind, and highly technically skilled. The office is beautifully located in Boulder with free parking and there is a lift for people with disabilities. The staff is friendly and helpful.Highly recommended !

Dr. Hinsberger and the entire staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable throughout my exam, x-rays and cleaning. She spent a lot of time listening to my dental concerns and was understanding and professional. It has taken me a long time to find a dentist and I am very happy with my experience.

I was lucky to go to Dr. Takemoto for all my dentistry since I was a young child. She and her wonderful team of front desk assistants and hygenists did everything to make me welcome and comfortable.
Teeth cleanings are very thorough, and both hygenists and Dr. Takemoto give reliable advice on problem areas and treatment options. The whole staff did an excellent job relaxing me during fillings as a kid--I remember they brought out a huge teddy bear for me to hold.
Dr. Takemoto has my highest recommendation. I would still be a regular if I hadn't relocated.

I am a certified dental wimp. Dr. Bishop and his staff have managed to keep me coming back for regular cleanings and 'maintenance" for about 15 years. Anyone else out there who classifies herself as a dental wimp knows that this is testimonial enough!

The service was fantastic and I loved Dr. Takemoto. What I didn't realize and what they didn't tell me was that I was in a plan that required me to pay extra, when I was going into it with the impression that my insurance would pay all of it. They said that they could not tell me how much it would cost until AFTER I went through the procedure and then they billed me. I wish I had known this before hand. I tried to get the amount lowered or changed to just cash but they would not be understanding and help me out. They said it was the same price if I paid with insurance or just cash. Sadly

Dr. Takemoto is the best dentist I've seen. She is very fun, quick witted, honest and open. She tells you like it is, with a smile and a joke. She is clearly very knowledgable and her staff seems to love her, which i think is a good indicator about a dentist. In the last two years of going to Bishop + Takemoto i have had several cleanings, a crown, and a handful of fillings, but after the initial work, i am on track with healthy teeth!
