WONDERFUL ownership, staff, environment and most of all- FOOD! Meals are prepped by clean hands and is always as fresh as you can get it. Prices are reasonable and it's a great place to be for anyone needing a quick, delicious meal- from an individual to a whole group!

Wow.....is what went through my head when I sunk my teeth into my first bite.
Carne Asada taco - hands down the best steak taco I have ever had. They marinate it for 24 hours and trim it nicely so you do not get any chewy parts. Makes me even happier that they locally source their meat.
So many things to say but I noticed this was a draft from 2019 and I never got to express how delicious this food was! And no I have to make it appoint to come back so I can finish this

Well I was looking forward to a new spot for tacos. I had a friend reco and with all the good reviews I was expecting great things. The food look fine but all of it lacked in flavor. I am not one for overly seasoned or salty foods but this was just bland. I had steak, pork, & pastor. None were better than I have had at other places flavor wise. The prep and cooking were good but even a light sprinkling of salt didn't help with taste. And as others have said the red and green salsa have no heat to them, they are mild. I'll might give it another try someday...

I absolutely love this place. I'm new to the area and ordered delivery to one of the residence halls at FHSU. I ordered near close and it was delivered extremely fast, it was affordable, and best of all delicious. The food was all very nicely packaged and my frozen dessert was even placed in a cup of ice to keep it frozen! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone trying to get a good amount of great quality food for relatively cheap.

The food and service are amazing! Everything is made fresh and they are unbelievably fast! We my favorite tacos are the carnitas with the green salsa, but I love being able to get meatless tacos for lent! If you have not tried Taco Shop yet make sure you get over there because you are missing out on delicious and quick Mexican food!

This is about as good as tacos get out here in the Palatine. I could've had triple the amount for the same price in the city. If your willing to spend $3 per taco come here, if not Taco Bell isint too far. The al pastor we're de-lish. Ask for the habanero salsa- so good! Would've been nice to get more than one little container after I asked for "a lot". Why you so stingy. The horchata was fabulous. Tasted homemade! Couldnt tell if the sediment at the bottom was rice or powder - either way, I'd order it again. I'd eat here all the time if the tacos were cheaper

Discovered this place nearby the Deer Grove Nature Preserves. We were starving after walking 6.5 miles and this Taco Shop did not disappoint!
Due to COVID-19, they are only doing take out. They have an dining set, but that's open if the weather is nice.
I ordered the steak tacos with cilantro and onions (if you have it any other way it's a sin ;) jk!). They were delicious and authentic! I did wish the green and red sauces were spicier or had a kick to it.
I also received complimentary chips along with the tacos!
Very inexpensive and absolutely delicious!

The beef is a good quality, but again no seasonings. At least it is not highly salted. There dinner includes a miniscule amount of rice and beans, also nothing special. Then, the burrito with mostly rice and beans. Rice only belongs in chili Relleno burritos in my opinion. Paid a dollar extra for the Carneasada. When I asked why on the burrito I was paying more since the menu said your choice of meat, I was told that it due to the high cost of meat due to the corona virus. That

I'm not sure why this place got so many good reviews.... I guess I'm missing something. The place is located in a strip mall, and it is a somewhat small restaurant. I would estimate maybe 20 people can dine-in comfortably. The set up is, you order at the front, where there are menus hanging overhead. The menu consisted of tacos and burritos, chips, guac, sadly no elote.
Tell them your order, pay, and sit down; they serve the food. Service was great, the food though wasn't. We ordered some chips and salsa and the chips appear to be store brought. The salsa I wish was pico de gallo

We travel to Hays every November for basketball tournaments. Usually we eat at the fast food restaurant's near the highway. This time we decided to try something new. Near the University. Taco Shop was very delicious.
