Port City Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is a full service dental facility practicing Comprehensive, Cosmetic, and Family Dentistry.
Dr. Jillian Wolske is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. In 1999 she began her career in the field of dentistry by fulfilling a lifelong dream of joining the United States Navy, where she enlisted as a Dental Technician. Her career began just like any other service member, attending boot camp, and specialized training then assignment.
I want to take a moment to thank Dr. Barras for making my dental experience a great one. As a person with a great fear of the dental chair Dr. Barras was able to make my personal experience a pleasant one. She took the time to discuss my options and answer all of my questions fully. My children have never been fans of the dentist, but when they met Dr. Barras that changed, she was very patient and understanding of my children's fears.

Our office not only accepts most insurance(s), we are one of Wilmington's largest "Preferred In-Network Providers" for many of them. As an In-Network Provider or Participating Provide we agree to match the insurance fee schedule and give our customers a reduced cost for services. Depending on your specific plan, if you seek an Out-of-Network or Non-Participating Dentist, out of pocket expenses will generally be higher.

I am a patient that gets deep root cleanings and scaling for many years before stepping into Dr. Wolske's office. I would dread going to the dentist. My first visit I was surprised how well my visit went. My first cleaning I left happy with how gentle the dental hygienist was. I also left with a plan from Dr. Wolske to improve my dental care for the future. Everyone was wonderful that visit and every visit since. We just moved to the Wilmington area earlier this year. One of the first things we needed to do was find a dentist. I chose a family dentist so that we could all see the same dentist versus one for the parents and one for our daughters. The first couple visits went well, office staff was nice, appointments were scheduled quickly. During my 9 year old daughters first appointment Dr. Wolske informed us she had her first cavity. My husband and I have been going to Port City Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for years and love it! The staff is fantastic… so friendly and professional. I also love that I’m in and out in no time! Went to an emergency dentist appt because my fiance had a tooth that was broken. On the phone, Danny (I believe was the dark haired lady's name) was nice and she helped us schedule the appt as soon as possible. Theft is the only way I can describe the business dealing of this practise. I have been having periodontal cleanings for 12 + years so am very familiar with how they are performed. In June I met with a new hire hygienist who cleaned my teeth using a pick which is not how periodontal cleanings are done. I questioned her and she assured me she could… do a good enough job this way. I then received a bill for a perio cleaning which I questioned. Only had the one visit, but found the staff unknowledgeable & perhaps a little misrepresenting with their statements. The dr was very abrupt over charged and did absolutely nothing about my original problem. She did manage to take exrays & give me exam which I never asked for. Bottom line $150 for 15min. No help at all, all I had asked for was to cement my cap back on.

Dr. Barras is fantastic. She takes care of my entire family. She's amazing with my 3 year old son and takes such incredible care of my parents who now live out of state that they travel 12 hours just to see her. Before she met Dr. Barras, my mother hadn't been to a dentist in almost a decade because of anxiety and previous bad experiences.
