Dr. McArdle graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and has been practicing in Portsmouth since 1995. He maintains his offices in the historic Captain Moses House on the North Mill Pond. Specializing in reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry along with the treatment of TMJ problems, he is committed to providing the best in patient-centered dental care.
Our office is a 1600 square foot facility that Dr. McArdle aquired in the year 2000 and features a beautiful view of Portsmouth's North Mill Pond. The suite was renovated that year to Dr. McArdle's exact specifications with hospital standard grade materials in all patient treatment areas. There are four operatories (treatment rooms), all of which are private.
Exemplary, professional but still friendly and relaxed. I have been a client for over 20 years. Dr. McArdle has always had my best interest at heart and when advising treatment, gives a full evaluation of why with x-rays, films and photos. His care is remarkable. Over the years, he has established a team of warm and thoughtful personnel.
We are committed to the overall well-being of each and every patient, starting with gentle, comprehensive preventive services as early as age three. As a parent, you want to know your child's adult teeth will come in strong and healthy. As an adult, a strong preventive plan will reduce or avoid altogether the harmful effects of cavities, gingivitis, enamel loss, and serious gum disease.

Had a wonderful experience here as a first-time patient of Dr. McArdle. My dental hygienist was wonderful and took time to explain what she was doing and to check in with me throughout the cleaning and X-rays. Dr. McArdle was kind and communicative and thorough. His front office staff were friendly as well. As someone who gets anxious about the dentist, this was the best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office. Would definitely recommend him to anyone in the area.

Dr. McArdle is hands down the best dentist I have ever visited. He was extremely thorough in his examination, very personable, and a pleasure to visit. His staff are professional, kind, and funny. Angie was extremely accommodating when I had to postpone/cancel several times. My hygienist, Becky, was great with her cleaning, funny, and I couldn’t recommend her more.
Initially I was only supposed to get an exam, but they managed to fit me in for a cleaning and tooth sealants. Dr. McArdle didn’t try to upsell me on anything, and everything they did I felt was necessary. They even found discounts
