Beach Pet Hospital
We deliver the highest standard quality of veterinary medicine to your furry friends along with friendly and professional care. Our #1 priority is to keep your pets healthy and happy throughout all stages of their lives. The importance of good dental health cannot be stressed enough. Being an AAHA approved hospital, we follow their guidelines and recommendations with state of the art equipment.

Veterinary medicine has allowed our furry (or not so furry) friends to live longer and healthier lives, however, extending your pet's lifespan is not without its concerns. Older pets begin to develop age-related changes that can affect their health. Beach Pet offers an array of prescription medications prescribed by our veterinarians.
Services
Our laboratory area consists of a complete array of in-house diagnostic equipment relating to blood, fecal, urine samples or tissue samples. The equipment used by our veterinary technicians is stare-of-the-art, allowing for quick and accurate results so our veterinarians can diagnose and treat our patients in a thorough and timely manner.

As pets reach the golden years, there are a variety of conditions and diseases that they can face, including weight and mobility changes; osteoarthritis; kidney, heart, and liver disease; tumors and cancers; hormone disorders such as diabetes and thyroid imbalance; and many others.Once your pet reaches their senior years, it is important to have them examined bi-annually or every 6 months.
All surgery is performed in an isolated sterile suite using isoflurane and sevoflurane anesthesia. The patient is carefully monitored by a technician using pulse and respiratory monitors or a pulse oximeter. We perform a full range of surgical services from routine spays and neuters to more complicated soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, such as anterior cruciate repair procedures.
Laser therapy uses photobiomodulation to reduce inflammation and encourage cell regeneration and growth. During this process, the body will release endorphins to aid in pain alleviation. The laser penetrates skin and tissues in order to stimulate any injured cells, whether on the skin or deep tissue.
Below you will find the file to register information about you and your pet with our practice. This way we can be ready for you and your pet on your first visit. Please make sure your dog is on a leash and your cat in a carrier before getting out of your car and keep your pet contained at all times in the reception area.

I want to warn everyone about this Veterinary Hospital and it’s owner. I have filed a formal complaint with the Board of Veterinary Medicine.
I called for prescription refills for my dog. I asked for a 90-day supply. When I picked it up, it was much more expensive than it typically was.
When I arrived home, I realized that they had given me a 180 day supply. They admitted to the error but insisted that I drive back, from Greenbrier, a thirty minute drive, to return it before giving me a refund. I said, it wasn’t my mistake and I would like to be refunded immediately. They refused. The owner

I love Beach Pet and have told all of my friends to bring their pets here.
They are so caring and kind with my dog who is a nervous wreck coming in the doors. I really feel like they genuinely care about her and they do everything they can to make her comfortable with so much positive reinforcement.
I’ve seen so many different docs and associates here, and really have had a pleasant experience with everybody.
Mary Katherine has been helping with her re-conditioning training for her nails and is so beyond sweet with Ellie.
Again, 10/10 recommend this practice due to the staff.

I had a standing appointment for a well check for my new rescue kitten at 4:30pm one Friday. I waited for about 30 minutes before inquiring how much longer I had to wait. The receptionist said they had a few emergency visits that day and were running behind. Why I wasn't told this when I checked in (or called prior to my visit) so I could make a decision if I wanted to wait or not is beyond me. At 5:15 I checked again with no change. Having plans that night at 6:00, I finally left at 5:30 without seeing the vet. I contacted the office via their website about this and never heard a word back from

Leilani at the front desk was an absolute angel when I came in earlier today. She was extremely courteous and kind even when I had missed my appointment by an entire hour. Not only that, she was able to find me an appointment a couple weeks out. I've been taking my cranky little feline here for nearly 3 years now and everytime has been nothing but an excellent experience.

I would give 6 stars if I could. My husband and I recently added a new puppy to our household, and within days, had a major medical crisis on our hands. Our puppy had serious medical issues that were not detected by the breeder (or the breeder's vet), including significant neurological symptoms, a UTI, bladder stones, contracted tendons, and (as Beach Pet discovered) a liver shunt. We've used Beach Pet for routine medical care for our other dog and have always been very pleased, but in this crisis, they went above and beyond. The vets provided excellent medical care and an accurate diagnosis of

Wow. Just Wow. Beach Pet blew me away with the way they cared for my cat. He became very ill very fast and I was unable to get answers from another vet hospital that I had been going to for many years with all my babies. I found out in 3 hours what I needed to know, after 2 weeks with no answers from the other vet. Everyone I spent time with at Beach Pet clearly loves animals AND their job. Dr. Upchurch explained things to me in a manner that I could easily understand - even though I was a complete and total emotional mess. I am a fan and recommend Beach Pet to everyone now.

I don't write reviews unless the service is really bad or really good.

Like most pet owners, we have visited different vets over the last 20 years, depending on where we live at the time. We have been looking for a permanent veterinarian since we moved here a little more than a year ago. Our visit to Beach Pet was the best ever. Both the tech and the doctor were exceptional. Patient, great with our rescue dog and actually had a conversation with us that provided excellent information covering everything from inoculations and meds to weight management and exercise.

Zero upselling or pushing

Around a year and a half ago I took my dog there and their staff took us into a bereavement room gave us the death news and gave us a few weeks of life left with her. Put us through a bunch of unwarranted grief ...Really? Took the same dog there for eye problems a month ago (death news BEEP! INVALID) they charged me an absorbent amount regarding a lab test to which they never delivered to me. I finally had to get it from another vet a month later!! I called them many times to inquire on the tests..no words were spoken between us and they just constantly hung up on me as they are so overwhelmed

Have been taking my animals here for ten years. Found out my dog had a luxating patella and needed surgery so I set up a day.. the morning we arrived for surgery an assistant came out with the paper work etc and said the price which was gonna be over $3,000. I was good for it but since it was right before Christmas I asked her if I could pay half today and the rest on the 1st of December when I got paid she said they don't do that but She went in to ask her manager and came back and said no that it has to be paid in full. Didn't end up doing the surgery and left. My animals are now going

We love this practice! They have been caring for our animals (currently one dog and one cat) for many years, and have helped us through many difficult situations with our treasured family members, in addition to general, routine care. Dr. Dave Laurence has been our go-to vet for many years, so he knows our animals very well and is beyond amazing, however each and every one of the vets we have seen over the years (emergency visits, etc) has been so caring and professional, and the office staff is wonderful as well.

I long for the day when we can actually once again bring our animals into the

I have used this vet for years. Not anymore! They have no clue when it comes to scheduling appointments. I recently got a new puppy. The 1st visit I waited in my car 23 minutes before someone came to get her. The 2nd visit I waited 26 minutes in my car. The 3rd visit, I was still outside 35 minutes waiting. No consideration of the paying customer's time or what they have going on. While they may have vets that can provide good emergency service, my time is valuable.

I bragged about this place in the past. They had awesome service and very knowledgeable vets. But, the service has quickly declined. They have lost their touch on customer service. I called to get a general idea of what it would cost to spay a new puppy we adopted. Our other 2 dogs are current patients. But, because she has not been yet, I am told they can not even give a general idea of the cost until we pay to have an examination done.

Had a bit of an emergency with my cat today. Being a Sunday only limited Vet services were open. After consulting one "Banfield" which told me they could see my pet in late April , I found Beach Pet Hospital. They were quick to set up an appointment for me on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival I found a very nice group of people who cared for my cat in a very professional manner. I would recommend this Vet to anyone I know... They are great!

Best hospital. Best veterinarians. That is all. They are the best, especially for pets that have had less than positive experiences with other vets. Their care is done with excellence and kindness, especially Christina, who by far is one of the most exceptional people I have ever met. Beach Pet Hospital ..... when your pet needs as much care and love as you would give.

I cannot say enough good things about Beach Pet. They are everything you look for in a vet practice...experienced, knowledgable, caring, and reasonably priced.

The doctors are fantastic, amazing and so knowledgable. They know their stuff and are happy to explain every little detail of whats going on. I have never once felt rushed, or like my questions where annoying them. The doctors always tell me the cost of something before they do it. When there are multiple courses of action they explain the most cost effective option and the different possible treatment options.

I have never felt that

Several years ago my Shepherd was hit by a driver who was on his phone. We took him to an emergency hospital on Lynnhaven pkwy. They charged my college age son almost $500 and sent him home with bandaids on a few shaved areas where he had "raspberries"... skin scrapes. They put a cone on his head and prescribed pain meds. That night I see blood on the tile and find he has a wound that is weeping. My son takes him back to the ER and they keep him in the back for over 2 hrs. Then when my son asks what's going on they say he has skin allergies and want to prescribe medicine. The technician

They took very good care of my Bella all the way up to her final moments.

Nothing will ever be enough to repay them for their kindness.
They went above and beyond to do as much as they could for her.
Bella quietly passed in the comfort of her home surrounded by all who loved her, all thanks to the efforts made by this hospital.

I will be forever grateful.
Thankyou,

My cat Azumi was ill and considering her age and our finances I was worried they'd tell me we had to put her to sleep. My last two rescues has similar symptoms and suffered. I dropped off newspapers and the front desk woman was grateful they use them for cleanup in pet crates

This was my first visit and it was a bit of a wait very busy day. However we were greeted immediately and my Azumi was well cared for, without the pushy salesman type of vet attitude. He was very sweet to Azumi as was the staff and she got testing, meds and has recovered. I was both relieved at the pricing and swift

I agree with Jessica G regarding: VET being MONEY HUNGRY. I, like most pet owners, love my pet-at any expense. I found that Beach Pet took full advantage of the love that I have for my furkid, and made up charges as they went along. Additionally, others have commented on the rude office staff.. Its all true folks.
My dog is in a lot of pain, and I was MORTIFIED by the rude front desk person when I first attempted to make an appointment. From there I should have known better than to actually go in....while on the phone - I asked to speak with her supervisor in an effort to help my dog, and we

I take all my pets to Beach Pet Hospital because they have always gone above and beyond. It's clear the veterinarians and staff really love what they do and care as much about the well being of my pets as they do their own.

I recently had to part with my best buddy Huckleberry, my cat of 16 years. Dr. Back and the staff went out of their way to make the process less painful.
