Frugatti's Italian Eatery

Our server was very helpful and the food was "ok." I ordered the spinach manicotti and while it was good, I left still hungry. I've never been to a restaurant where I didn't receive a salad with my meal. I could have ordered one on the side, but I just assumed my pasta came with a salad, my fault for assuming. The hostess was not kind or welcoming at all and after leaving still hungry after finishing plate, we will not be returning.

The service was great, busser refilled our drinks and offered more lemon. I ordered gluten free pasta with meatballs and our waitress advised me the meatballs had wheat. Our food was amazing and service is great price is good. Highly recommend.

Really great food, busy place, doing something very right apparently! When I've dined in it was pleasant. The rolls are great- but they changed somehow- used to be huge and awesome, now they're still huge but not quite awesome, just very good. Always want to try different things but keep going to the Baked Mostaccioli. Too amazing.

Food never disappoints at Frugatti's!

Their drinks and desserts are sure to cheer anyone up! Try their Espresso Martini (if you like coffee with your alcohol!) and their cheesecake sampler - the lemon cheesecake and chocolate cheesecake were delicious!

For all the meat pasta lovers, try the Beef Braciole - thin strips of beef rolled with prosciutto placed on top of wide noodle pasta with bolognese sauce. Can't get any better than that!

For the veggie lovers, the butternut squash ravioli is amazing paired with the brown butter sage sauce. They also have a chicken and spinach ravioli

The food was good. The service was good. Loved the sun dried tomato salad dressing. Signature pizza was good. The outside dining was dirty. Tablecloths had been wiped down, but there was a lot of garbage lying around. Complimentary bread isn't common amymore, and theirs is really good. We asked for a beer and received something almost completely opposite of what we asked for.

I honestly had the worst first visit here. I didn't even make it up past the hostess stand. I don't even want to talk about it because it was horrible. I called and spoke to Anthony and he listened, I honestly didn't plan to come back. I gave them another chance and 10 visits later, one of my favorite local spots.
Sara is normally our server and she knew our drinks on the 2nd visit. Impressive and Amazing customer service. She's so good with my boys and they love her She's an Angel.
So if you have had a bad experience, my advice, give them a 2nd chance because everyone

Came to try this place out for the first time with a group of friends, also their first time, and with noodles or pasta I always ask for extra cause some places don't give much so better safe than sorry if I was given a small portion, but nope it was a great portion. The complimentary bread was wonderful, and the carrot cake and cheesecake. Wonderful they weren't overly sweet like most pastries go, they were beautifully light in sweetness. Definitely gonna come back and hope to try their Gelato and Tiramisu. Our waitress was amazing, great energy and tended to us when she saw any of us

It is always a pleasure to come here. We live out of town but we love to enjoy their delicious bread and olive oil. I love Theresa's favorite tortellini and the meatball lasagna. There is so much I cannot wait to try. Staff is always so friendly and welcoming.

Portions were great. Food was average it wasn't bad but nothing over the top compared to other Italian restaurants. Order the Mother's Pasta, Lasagna, and Chicken Alfredo. Garlic bread was great especially with some pesto. Staff were helpful. Wait time was insane. I just feel it's a little over hyped. Best recommended to come in on slow hours.

I really don't like leaving a negative review, but something should be said.
Yesterday, our party of four called first thing in the morning to make reservations and we were told all reservations were full, but come and it will be a 35-45 minute wait. We arrived, we were told it would be 90 minutes. Okay, I get it, that's fine.

60 minutes - check in to see how much longer, and we're told about 45 minutes

75 minutes - we hear another waiting party walk out the door and say "I guess we just wasted 2 hours waiting for nothing"

90 minutes - check to see how much longer and

10/10 recommend having Frugatti’s cater your next event. The food is always a delicious crowd pleaser, and Richard has gone above and beyond for us each time they’ve catered for us. His service is impressive and we appreciate being able to count on them for a great experience!

We had a great birthday celebration dinner for our mom and the food was great, the atmosphere was fun and best of all, our server, Sarah was amazing. Many thanks to you all for helping to make our celebration wonderful.

Frugatti's is a local favorite of mine!! The food is amazing and the employees are usually very friendly!

I love Edna's Lasagna!! One of my all time favs! I get a like extra sauce and it truly a delicious meal! When I'm feeling like I should eat a little healthier, but I'm at an Italian restaurant, I get the Fitness Red Pepper Chicken Fettuccine. So delicious and lower calories. It's still a lot of food, so sometimes I split it and eat the rest the next day for leftovers.

This restaurant has always had a special place in my heart but this trip made it even more special. Frugatti’s named a pizza in honor of a most amazing local Congressman, Kevin McCarthy. I mean it when I say this pizza was AWESOME. I can never go back there and not order it every time. My hubby had the spinach ravioli which was also delicious. Thanks, Frugatti’s. Great job 🎈

Generous portions, but service was kind of slow. We probably waited fifteen minutes before someone came and took our drinks, and probably another ten minutes until he came back with our drinks and took our order.
We got the Appetizer Sampler Platter, my favorite among the three different items on the platter was the mozzarella bread. Chicken was kind of dry and you can taste the oil it was fried in. Stuffed mushrooms were a bit overpowering.
My kids got the cheese pizza and Mac & Cheese. Mac & Cheese is made with white cheddar, so if your kids are used to cheddar cheese- they may not eat theirs

Wanted a Fire Baked Pizza. They definately didnt disappoint. Worth the money spent if you are tired of the main chain crap, and want Fresh dough ect. Try it out!!!

I just finished my soup and now I'm waiting for my ravioli. Soup was tasty and service is great. The place looks great inside and out. Ravioli was great. Pizza was great. Atmosphere was great. The waiter (Richard) was also great.

One of the original Italian eateries in Bakersfield, Ca. Frugatti's has been around so long they can almost be considered vintage. During Covid times, they have set up a nice tent outside for safe and comfortable dining! I applaud the owners for taking such as precautions, and want to thank them for caring for their customers.

On this afternoon my date and I had to wait a bit for seating, but this should be expected if you arrive without reservations. The host was kind, and quickly brought our drinks to the table. Our waitress was delightful and made the best recommendations! My wife

Great food but service was really bad, i never got any help after the food was brought out. no refills or anything and then had to be hunted down so we could pay the bill

Alway have loved Frigatti’s food. I had forgotten how large the portions are-leftovers-yay! I recommend visiting while hungry, but not too hungry because there is always a wait for their amazing food. Also… while dining, I don’t feel rushed to leave (which I have noticed at other restaurants.). The last 3 times I’ve visited it has been post 2020 & let me tell you, service is still top notch unlike a lot of other restaurants post shut down due, to lack of quality staff.

We didn't know what to expect it was our first time for dinner ever in 23 years and my first time here in 9 years. (We had lunch) we have Italians in my family so there is no need to cheat on them with restaurant food.
Richard B. was our server and he was absolutely amazing. Very attentive , funny and He recommended my meal which I loved.
We started out with the bread and moved on to the sampler platter which includes stuffed sausage mushrooms, Foccacia bread and chicken "thingys" their word not mine.. we followed up with the Bayou Ridge Fettuccine, Papo Pasta, Beef Braciole

I'm so sad with our experience this week. My daughter graduated and her only wish was to have Frugatti's. We tried to book a reservation for our party of six but there was no availability--which is understandable. So, I decided to order take out and have it at home. I went the day before to order to make sure that it was in, in case there was a rush. We ordered 5 meals. It was ready to be picked up on time and everything seemed good.

When we got home, this is what we ended up with.

--The Calzone that we purchased was soggy and parts of the crust was raw.
--The Lasagna was good
