Services
Steve Wallman, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who concentrates his practice on relationship issues, major life transitions and general counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups. Steve's perspective of believing that each of us has the ability to enhance life significantly through increased self-awareness and conscious choice is the basis for the development of evanston therapy group.
At evanston therapy group, we believe every individual has within him or her the ability to change, and that change is possible for any person who is willing to invest the time and effort into working with us to achieve it. We know that the foundation of all successful therapy, counseling, coaching and mentoring is a warm, empathic and mutually respectful relationship between therapist and client.
Many of the issues that arise between partners in relationships can be worked through in therapy. Couples seek counseling not only when they are experiencing relationship distress or to address a specific issue, but also preventively at times of transition (e.g., moving in together, getting married, starting a family, etc.).
Monday and Tuesday evenings we provide a mixed-gender process-therapy group. Each group meets once a week (except the last week of each month) and helps individuals to work through family of origin issues that contribute to being blocked in current relationships, while learning to assertively communicate needs and maintain connections.
We charge for individual, couple, and family sessions at a standard hourly rate. For groups, there is a separate monthly rate charged each group member. Occasionally, depending upon financial need, adjustments are made after a full and open discussion. We will always let you know before raising our rates.
