Decided to take the boss lady out for a nice dinner on New Year’s Eve so MJ’s it was.
Pros: the service was outstanding from start to finish. Plenty of attentive and friendly staff. They were engaged, but not in the way of a nice dinner to close the year and kick off a new one. Drinks were tasty, appetizers were well portioned, but not too much. Salads were delicious. In full transparency, we filled up so much on our appetizers and salads, we could hardly make a dent in our entrees and desserts were absolutely out of the question, sadly. At no time during our visit was there more then 30%

First-timer, exceeded all expectations. Dennis, my server was attentive without being unctuous, the food, from the wonderfully prepared (to-die-for) escargot appetizer to the entree and variety of available sauces was an absolute delight.
For the first time at a previously unheard-of restaurant, it was a solidly satisfying meal, with an understated aura of elegance. Thoroughly enjoyed this place, and will be returning with friends.

Went there with my husband and had their 14-day aged prime rib and the rack of lamb. We were not impressed. The prime rib was drenched in garlic butter and had more than the usual amount of fat you'll find on a prime rib. The rack of lamb tasted very bland. This steakhouse seems to want to be like a Ruth Chris or a Fleming's, but fall short on quality and service. They are up there in pricing (very expensive), but not the best steakhouse for the money....by a long shot! The dining room is nice, and my Old Fashion was good, hence the 2nd star.....

Wow, what a hidden gem! I've been here in Bradenton pretty much my whole life and never knew about Michael John's. The service was impeccable and the food was comparable to eating at any wonderful restaurant in Europe. We need more places like this! I certainly return as everything experienced was just fantastic!

Just a wonderful dinner. I ordered oinion rings, they were perfect, I never had escargot before, super delicious. Blackened shrimp was OK. Brea with honey was extremely excellent. I had filet mignon it was perfectly done medium rare, and gorgeous cut of meat. Wasn't as fond of spinach as Ruth's Chris, but overall the meal was really excellent.

Hands down, one of the best meals I’ve had at any restaurant. I had the pleasure of trying one of their unique specials of the day, steak tips with goat cheese and roasted garlic. I could literally drink the sauce that was on the beef tips, it was SO good. My husband and I celebrated his birthday here on a whim and it’s definitely going to be in our usually restaurant rotation. 10/10 we’ll be back soon.

This is a hidden gem in Bradenton. Not fancy but very much interesting. It has been here go 15 years. Although there is not a fixed bartender, everyone works together in a family way. Drinks are good.
Food is more than excellent.
The different breads are amazing.
Tried the MJ colossal fried firecrackers shrimps and the escargots to start.
Trief the cordon Bleu in honey champagne sauce and the Delmonico steak. Both amazing, perfectly cooked, and with perfect flavor.
A definite place to go.
