Services
Rio Bravo Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive range of small animal veterinary services, from routine medical care to advanced diagnostics and surgical procedures. While we see mostly dogs and cats, we enjoy caring for other critters as well, everything from geckos to ferrets to rabbits as well as barnyard pets including small ruminants and fowl.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, practice owner Dr. Ashlee Andrews received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2005. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico where she was a member of the Lobo track and cross country teams and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001.
Rio Bravo Veterinary Hospital has an outstanding technical staff who are knowledgeable, caring and professional. I live in the South Valley and have worked at Rio Bravo for 30+ years. I have always loved animals and have had many of them. I enjoy getting to know the animals as well as the people who bring them in, especially the people who have been coming here at least as long as I have worked here.
Rio Bravo provides a safe, clean, secure and affordable boarding kennel for your dogs and cats. Dogs have access to indoor and fenced outdoor runs. Cats are housed in a separate facility in spacious cat kennels. We are conveniently located near the airport. Because we are a full service veterinary hospital, our boarding kennel offers advantages other boarding facilities simply cannot provide.

I started with this place when my veterinarian retired.This place offers fabulous care for your dog or cat.The veterinarian's aren't pushy and they research the pets problem .They offer what needs to b done and gives you prices before they do the work.I highly recommend Rio Bravo Veterinarian best care my pets have gotten here and priced reasonably as well including when your on a budget..

Super over priced, during covid we had to wait outside and my dog was trying to get out of the door and they didn't have control and they door shut on her head. Everyone Ive encountered was rude. Thought oh maybe it was just a bad day. Went again for a follow up, and nothing changed. After that I called b/c my dog was having a lot of seizures and the medication they prescribed was not working so I felt the best was to put her to rest so I called for guidance and they person on the phone showed no empathy, they asked me what i wanted to do instead of suggesting other options. They didn't even try
