I love this gym; I've been a member for over 2 years. the owner Jessica is a sweetheart. the gym is small, not a meat market like your huge chain gyms. facility is clean immaculate. Beautiful bathroom with steam showers. this gym is worth every penny. Free towels and water. the trainers are top notch. I love ,y trainer Vigen. Love it, feels like a family ? 8**** stars lol

This review is for the owner, Jessica. Went to Funxional for 1 month while I trained with a trainer that had been there for years.
The first thing you need to know is that she charges you a yearly "maintenance fee", it's non-refundable even if you don't stay a year. IMO this is something that should be included in the membership but this is her policy.
My trainer decided to leave so I had no choice but to follow the trainer as his client. Paid for a second month and used the gym 4 days of that second month. I let Jessica know in writing, per her request that I will no longer

I absolutely LOVE everything about this gym. I was looking for a place that wasn't always crowded or intimidating. I found so much more here! I joined right before things really opened back up with the pandemic and it was always clean clean clean. The staff are always so polite and welcoming. The owner Jessica sat with me to get an idea of my training needs to ensure she would find the right fit. I got paired with Reid and couldn't be happier!

What can I say about this place? First, I am not a gym person. That doesn't mean I don't value my health or believe in working out, it means I don't like crowded spaces, negatively competitive atmospheres, or lackluster trainers who don't care about their jobs.
Thankfully, FunXional is the exact opposite of all of these things. The space is impeccably maintained and safe; it rarely feels "busy"; the trainers are excellent and kind hearted, and the owner is a caring soul who practices what she preaches.

I've been a member at every single gym in Burbank at some point in time: Crunch, BFC, 24, and even LA Fitness in Glendale. None of them are quite like FunXional. Every single time you walk in, the staff at the desk (who is often Jessica, the owner, who I didn't know until I signed up) will make you feel welcome. They will make you feel like your goals are their goals too! It doesn't feel like a money machine the way every other gym does.
Sentiment aside, this gym has everything you need without the crowd. I've never had to wait for a machine and I've never needed something

I joined Funxional almost two years ago because I hired a trainer who was based out of there. It was something I had long contemplated but couldn't afford, nor did I think I had the time. When I started, I was working 12 hour erratic shifts, but I was so determined to change my lifestyle in my late thirties that I committed 1000%.
Funxional Fitness truly provided the level of expertise and atmosphere that I needed to succeed: all of the trainers are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and encouraging; the staff is personable; the facility is super clean and organized.

Really great experience. A range of clients (young to old), well-kept equipment, and an owner who cares about her business and customers, as opposed to signing up as many people as possible (**coughcough24hourfitnesscough**). Never felt crowded when I was working out, always felt heard by the staff -- I made a suggestion in passing about the possibility of adding more free weights and a new bench... which were on the floor next week.

Quit this gym due to a family financial crisis, my fault that I did not provide it in writing but Jessica agreed to give me a refund and cancel my membership. Weeks go by, no refund, and not only that, I get charged for the next month, causing me to now have an overdraft fee in my account. Call Jessica, she says she will look into it right away, but 4 business days later, I still have no refunds, no calls or emails from this gym.
I had a pleasant time while I was there, but I guess once you don't want to give them money anymore, they just try to keep bleeding you dry. Please reach out

As a personal trainer and regular gym goer I have been having a hard time finding a gym I liked in Burbank. I recently moved here and have tried everything around, but I prefer boutique gyms. Great facility! The staff is extremely friendly and there to help. The facility itself is very clean and maintained. They strive to do upkeep and the members themselves contribute to the atmosphere. This is a gym built on respect for others and the facility. I would reccomend the gym to anyone that has an interest in working out with no frills.
