Gregory Wilson, Certified Public Accountant, has been in public accounting for nearly forty years and began his association with CMAC in 1979 and has been a shareholder/partner at CMAC since 1982.

Greg is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and has extensive experience with a wide range of industries including manufacturing and distribution, finance industry, real estate, healthcare, medical and professional services, and non-profit organizations.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Greg Wilson, President of Charles McDonough Accountancy Corp. The full service CPA firm has been located in Torrance since 1967 where it was founded by the late Charles McDonough. Charlie, as Greg refers to him, established an enduring culture of professionalism and work-ethic that is still evident today.
Have you just started a new business? Did you know expenses incurred before a business begins operations are not allowed as current deductions? Generally, these start up costs must be amortized over a period of 180 months beginning in the month in which the business begins. However, based on the current tax provisions, you may elect to deduct up to $5,000 of business start-up and $5,000 of organizational costs paid or incurred.
