My name is Vicki and I've been Dr. Greg's assistant since 2009. I really enjoy getting to know our patients and helping them with all of their dental needs. Outside of the office, I like to spend time with friends, read a book and watch a good movie. My name is Clorita (Clo) and I've been working with Dr. Boyer since 1990.
In order to maintain the health of your teeth and gums, we recommend a thorough check-up twice a year or every six months. This helps prevent problems from becoming serious by identifying them early and treating them as soon as possible. X-rays are a very important diagnostic tool in dentistry. They enable us to see potential problems that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Gum disease is an infection in the tissues that support your teeth including the gums and jaw bone. If bacteria accumulates below the gum line, it will release toxins that cause gum inflammation, bleeding, bad breath, bone loss, and loose teeth. Gum diseases progress in two stages. The first stage is GINGIVITIS, which is a milder and reversible form of periodontal disease.
Tooth decay, or dental caries, occurs when foods or drinks containing sugars and carbohydrates are left on tooth surfaces. The bacteria in plaque thrive on these foods and produce lactic acid as a result. Over time, this acid will destroy the tooth surface resulting in tooth decay. After the dentist removes the decay from your tooth, a filling will then be placed.
A crown is a type of restoration that is meant to "cap" or completely cover a tooth. There are several reasons for needing a crown: there is not enough remaining tooth structure to retain a conventional filling, to improve the esthetic appearance of a tooth, to restore a dental implant, or to prevent the fracture of a tooth that has been root canal treated.

Today was my first visit to this office, and I am impressed. I came to see them after another dentist in town wanted to over $8,000 worth of work on my teeth. Dr. Boyer did a thorough exam and found that a big portion of the work this other dentist was suggesting was not necessary. I cannot thank him and his staff enough for seeing me so quickly and alleviating the financial worry I had. I'm so glad I found this office!!!
