River Island Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Clinic
Our goal in working together with you is to develop a treatment plan, tailored to your needs, that will increase your health and wellbeing. We believe in continual growth and learning, to help us meet you where you are and to help you get to where you want to be. Acupuncture is all about treating people as they are now.

I try to honor that by making a safe, judgement-free space so I can truly meet people as they are. I started studying pre-med at college. While I was at college, I had the opportunity to go to Japan with a class to study ceramics. During my stay in Japan, I was invited by one of the hosts to apprentice in ceramics.
Services
Includes a health intake, physical exam, and treatment including acupuncture and other relevant therapies listed below. Extra time is added to the first visit to get a more complete understanding of your current health as well as your health history. We also discuss your short-term and long-term health goals.
Pain management - Acupuncture can help reduce pain severity and frequency to get you back to doing what you love. Sports medicine - Whether recovering from an injury or your vigorous workouts, acupuncture can get you back on your feet. Anxiety/Depression - Acupuncture treats the mind and body together to support your healing and get you moving again.
Our combination of massage and acupuncture is very effective at reducing tension and increasing blood flow to the affected area. This not only relieves pain but also helps the body to regenerate itself by bringing new resources to the area, allowing a deeper level of healing.

It is effective for chronic pain such as arthritis, newer injuries like slips or falls, and can even be used for improved recovery time after surgical procedures like knee replacements.
Acupuncture's benefits for sports medicine are two fold. First, acupuncture can improve recovery time from injuries and exercise fatigue by reducing inflammation and swelling as well as increasing blood flow to the affected area to facilitate recovery. Second, acupuncture and electro-acupuncture, by stimulating the muscles, may increase muscle efficiency and performance.
Acupuncture causes a release of endorphins from the brain, improving mood and energy levels and reducing pain. By restoring normal function to the body systems, acupuncture can adjust the levels of other chemicals and hormones in the body and can have widespread benefits for your physical and mental health.

I'm a runner, and in my opinion, too young to feel the pain I've had in my neck. Jesse helped me immensely with his treatment plan of a combination of acupuncture and muscle massage/manipulation. He not only takes time during our appointments to check in with me, but he goes above and beyond and comes back with new ideas each week that help me feel better. If you have even the slightest inclination to try acupuncture, go to Jesse! I feel like a new person!

I'm an ultra runner and also in my 50's so I put a lot of stress on my body. Ever since I've started treatment with Jesse he's helped me resolve a lot of my back, hip and leg issues. He's treated me with acupuncture, cupping, and massage plus Chinese herbs. He's become an important part of my training and recovery. He's an extremely good listener and takes a very holistic approach.

I'm an ultra runner in his 50's so I put a lot of mileage on my aging body. Jesse has done some incredible work with me overcoming some major injuries this past summer. Jesse spends the time understanding your situation, your body, health etc. that allows him to take a holistic approach to his therapy. I highly recommend him.
