Services
Before purchasing a home you need to determine the condition the house is in, you need to know if something will cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars in repairs. Many problems are not easily recognized. So, for peace of mind and financial security you need a professional home inspector service like ours.
We use a thermal camera to check for hotspots in the electrical breaker box, and also to check for fresh roof or pipe leaks and missing insulation. We also use a drone for taller structures that can't otherwise be accessed. Sealy Engineering has extensive experience specifying and checking results of residential foundation repairs.
A good realtor is your best asset when buying a home and good home inspectors might be the next most important. The realtor wants what's best for their clients and know which inspectors do thorough inspections, based upon their experience. We get many referrals from realtors and most of the rest from past clients.
While not as many homeowners get inspections before selling a house, there are some advantages to it. The disadvantage is obviously that we would find a problem that another inspector for buyers might have missed. On the other hand, issues are often determined to be present during the buyers' inspections that can cause the sale to fall through due to lack of time investigate a major problem such as a foundation problem.
The combined time we spend on inspections is more than many other inspectors and it is my opinion that the time is necessary to properly check out a house. In addition, my experience inspecting homes in the Houston area and structural engineering knowledge give you an advantage. Not all inspectors provide the same level of experience and time spent on your inspection.

I've had a great experience using Taylor to conduct foundation inspections for homes under the option period of the contract where we inspect and validate home condition. Taylor did an excellent job of previding a concise inspection report and in making him self available to discuss the results with us and answer our questions. I highly recommend Sealy Engineering for home foundation / structural inspections.

Taylor conducted an engineering inspection for us. He was thorough and professional. He spent time explaining his findings and making recommendations. His report was detailed with measurements and photos. He submitted his report promptly and was quick to respond to our messages. I would highly recommend.

My husband did the home inspection with Mr. Sealy and said that he did an excellent job. My husband has both a mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering degree. So, he can easily tell if someone isn't doing a good home inspection. However, he had many good things to say about the inspection and was very happy with the hard work the inspector put in. He was so impressed that he said this is probably one of the best company's to have inspect your home, and my husband is not easily impressed. So, I would highly recommend going with them for a home inspection.

We were having a beam spanning the width of our garage installed, by a construction company not affiliated with Mr. Sealy, because the current one was not enough to support the room above it. The work didn’t look right to our untrained eye so I asked Mr. Sealy if he could come look at it and tell us if it was structurally sound. He charged $200 just to come out. The power beam had been cut completely through, a piece installed into the wall and then the remaining beam nailed to the piece that was in the wall. So the only thing holding the beam up on one side was nails. I said to Mr. Sealy, “It

I had a very pleasant and satisfying experience working with Sealy Engineering. Mr. Sealy was very courteous, knowledgeable, and took time to ask pertinent questions to fully understand the issue I was dealing with, as well as my concerns.
He paid close attention to detail during his inspection and discussed with me all relevant factors in the evaluation. He actually went out of his way a few times to make sure I understood the main issues and their potential impact.
Mr. Sealy generated a prompt and complete technical report including recommendations based on best industry practices. He is definitely

After Harvey did some major damage to my foundation, I went to nine different foundation companies. As a result I got four different solutions, each with different price ranges.
I then decided to go with an independent engineer. Taylor came out, examined the house, then he looked at the proposals. Out of the nine different proposals, only four were within the the recommendations he suggested.
Within those four, Taylor then gave me the history of each in terms of the quality of work he had seen from them. He also suggested a few others that I had not considered.
