Counseling, much like life, is an adventure- and I am always up for one! I have been a counselor in Peoria, IL since 2005 when I received my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary's School of Psychology. I became independently licensed as a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of IL in 2011.
I have previously worked in community mental health with chronic mental illness, a domestic violence shelter, a group private practice and currently have my own practice and also work at a trauma recovery center at a local hospital with people who have been affected by violent crime in the city of Peoria, IL.

Services
Normally I do in-person therapy only but due to efforts to contain this virus, I am offering telehealth appointments. In-person appointments are still available and necessary distancing and disinfection procedures are being put in place. I also provide therapy services to people who are experiencing stress during life transitions or relationship difficulties in the Peoria area.
Answer: I use a variety of therapeutic approaches: I am a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy) therapist, but also use components from CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) including exposure and response prevention for the treatment of OCD as well as DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy).
