Amazing food and amazing staff. Just recently hosted my wedding reception here and the staff were so helpful ensuring everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend for events or even just a great taste of Greek food. Thoroughly enjoyed their seafood appetizer. Centrally located on the main street in historic Metuchen, The Greek on Main offers a delightful mix of traditional Greek dishes infused with modern flavors. Chef Theodore Kappas embraces the "farm to table" approach with locally sourced farm fresh meats and vegetables as well as the finest imported traditional ingredients that define Greek cuisine.
Ripe tomatoes red onions cucumbers green peppers Kalamata olives and our own imported from Greece extra virgin olive oil. Sauted breast of chicken with mushrooms, garlic, loukaniko (Greek sausage) and Feta cheese. Breast of chicken with fresh spinach, selected herbs, and garlic all topped with Feta in a in light cream sauce.

One of my friends and I got together to get some lunch. I made reservations for 1pm. When I arrived I found parking on the street. I walked in and told the hostess I had reservations and she went to sit us in the cut. I wasn't feeling that too much so she moved us. Camila was our server and um she seemed to be bothered a bit. Not sure why. She took a bit to get to the table as well.

Went for dinner with the family. We enjoyed everything, not one of the best Greek restaurants I have been to but definitely one of the best Greek spots in the area. Food is a little on the expensive side but fresh nevertheless.
For appetizers we had the Fig and goat cheese flat bread, calamari and the trio spreads, everything was good.
For dinner we ordered the red snapper, lavraki, short ribs and the rib eye

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here at The Green on Main! I found the atmosphere to be lovely as it reminded me of sitting at a restaurant in Greece. Their appetizers were amazing, to say the least. I am a big cheese lover (especially feta) and Greek food is known for their feta! But this place served their feta grilled, fried, and more. Loved that!
The waitress recommended the salmon to me and it did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly on a bed of potatoes, sauce, and capers. The flavors of this combination were truly out of this world.

I love Metuchen! And I'm so happy I got to try this place. My friend and I made reservations for Evening since it's always full so we picked a day where is less full and we got a spot! Loved the service, definitely loved the food and the area they are located as of course. We had some fEtta cheese bread bites to start with olive oil on the side (so good), followed by some salmon and finished strong with dessert. Oh, by the way, the spanakopita is AMAZING!!! I'm so glad we got a spot here, I will definitely come back with my friends!

Came here for date night. We have been to some other restaurants in the downtown Metuchen area over the past few months and have finally made it to The Greek on Main. Our 1st time to an actual Greek restaurant and they did not disappoint. The place is very cozy and our waitress Katia was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We will without a doubt be back to try some of the other amazing dishes on the menu.

We took a friend to The Greek on Main, letting him know what great experience we had there in the past. We arrived for your 7:15 reservation and were greeted promptly by the hostess and seated. As time ticked by, other parties arrived, were seated, and the wait staff took their orders. Unfortunately, after being seated, we were never acknowledged by anyone at the restaurant. Finally, at 7:40, we walked out. The hostess apologized that no one assisted us.
There is a bright side to this story. We walked across the street to Mangia Toscano and had an incredible meal and experience.

Not sure whats all these fuzz about this place, went there for lunch, server looked and communicated with us as if she doesnt want us to be there, unwelcoming as its called.
We were craving for meat so we ordered lamb burger which was super dry(i ordered medium) and completely unseasoned, a hot dog for $2 has more flavor in it. My wife had the steak hoping it would be worth the money. Meat was cooked right (medium)but absolutely 0 taste, maybe the cook forgot to season the steak? I mean if you are a cook that works in a restaurant and you have a grill in your kitchen, how do you manage to mess

Sat outside and our plates and cups had dirt/dust/debris from outside all over them as they had been preset from whenever they opened or set the tables. The food tasted fresh but unfortunately lacked a lil salt. Also upon biting into my thick salmon burger it split into 2 ruined my whole meal. Also they don't serve alcohol.

Unexpected friend date night with the homie!!! First, love that they have outside dining under a beautifully decorated tent or on the side of the restaurant. I like options. Our server Nick The Great was pretty funny and helpful. He was able to make some beverage suggestions to us which was great. We tried Greek soda which was delicious. Just learned I have to drive all the way to Queens if I want a case. Decisions Decisions. I was disappointed that they did not have the rosé chilled but the Chardonnay wasn't bad at all. There's a small wine menu (5 options) but the options are good

There's a good amount of vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered the gigantes (giant lima beans baked with tomatoes and herbs) and dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves with rice). They were both so yummy! I wish there were more vegan entree options and falafel. This place is cute -- service could be better. Our waiter did not come back to check on us & food took a while. Lots of outdoor seating.

Highly recommend the Saganaki and Patzaria appetizers. One of my favorite things about quality Greek restaurants is the flaming cheese plate. They didn't disappointed! Delicious!
The lamb chops were cooked perfectly medium rare and the plate was full! No complaints about portions here. Heads up that the lamb chops don't have much in the way of vegetables, so if you want one you'll have to order it as a side dish.
Someone else in our group ordered the Melisanosalata (roasted eggplant salad) and said it was very good.

Recently visited this restaurant and I have to say we had an excellent experience! The maitre D went out of his way to seat us outside. Our waiter Joe was prompt, knowledgeable and pleasant. We had the haloumi fries appetizer and the octopus, which were both outstanding! We had the lobster gyro and lobster pasta dishes which were also fantastic. The owner, Teddy, was very personable, stopped by our table to chat and see how everything was.
The location and restaurant itself was nice, clean and in a great area, with plenty of parking nearby.

Whenever I visit my brother this is usually their go to spot! Easy take out/delivery and food is very fresh. We ordered two salads, Calamari Salad, goat cheese salad- both very good. My calamari could have used more lettuce and the calamari although very fresh was a little under cooked for my liking but overall delicious! I also wished the dressing was on the side. It was a bit soggy. We also ordered tomato salad- very good!!
For mains we ordered Astakomakaronada which has lobster meat with this tube like pasta, so delicious! (Gave me vodka sauce vibes!)

My friend and I love Mediterranean cuisine and wanted to find a good one! We both felt comfortable dining inside for lunch. The server was sweet and attentive, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Clean and neat! We ordered a lot, the grilled octopus and salad was good. The taramosalata dip was our favorite! The haloumi Fries were amazing too!
We spilt the Spanakopita Burger and it was cooked to the medium as we requested. Juicy and well seasoned with the spinach and cheese topping.
