Having practiced law for 48 years, I have a large amount of experience handling many types of legal matters ranging from representing people who have been seriously injured in motor vehicle accidents to high-profile criminal jury trials. My parents came to the United States with me, as immigrants, by ship in 1949. We docked at Ellis Island, and settled in the lower east side of New York City. As Holocaust survivors, my parents were permitted to enter the United States because they were sponsored by a Jewish organization.
Esther Distenfeld, my mother's older and only sister, and her husband, Solomon, were also Holocaust survivors, and they had arrived in New York City, with their two young daughters, Nella and Yetta, about a year earlier.Esther and Solomon were able to help my parents find housing in New York, where my father was fortunate enough to obtain an excellent job opportunity, working for a leather bag manufacturer.

I am committed to helping people and businesses use their rights under the United States Constitution to get legal debt relief, and in the process, my clients usually also get a whole lot of stress relief. As a practicing attorney since 1973, I have heard a lot of people tell me stories about their beliefs concerning bankruptcy. It seems that many people really have a total misunderstanding of the bankruptcy process, and the main purposes of bankruptcy. The reality is that Congress established the bankruptcy laws to give honest people who have gotten into significant debt an opportunity for a fresh start.
I consider Chapter 13 more powerful than Chapter 7 because you can pretty much receive all of the benefits that Chapter 7 provides, plus Chapter 13 gives you the opportunity to deal with additional issues that are not covered by Chapter 7. Clients can achieve many things through a chapter 13 bankruptcy.
