Pericle Communications Company is a nationally-recognized engineering firm specializing in wireless communications. Incorporated in 1992, Pericle is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The company is named after Pericle Rock, a rock formation on Pikes Peak popular with climbers. Pericle provides engineering services to public safety agencies, airports, local governments, and to the cellular, broadcast, aviation, and utility industries.
Five of our team hold four-year degrees in electrical engineering and one is a senior radio technician with over 30 years experience with Motorola and Harris radio systems. Our owner, Jay Jacobsmeyer, has over 35 years experience in the industry and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Colorado.

Services
Pericle was founded in 1992 by Jay Jacobsmeyer and Bob Street with the mission of providing wireless engineering services and developing products for the commercial wireless industry. The intellectual property related to commercial products was spun off into a separate firm in 2000 and the company continued to grow its engineering services business.
Pericle has attracted and retained some of the most talented engineers and technicians in the wireless industry. Following are brief resumes for our key personnel. Jay holds BS (magna cum laude) and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and Cornell University, respectively. He has over thirty years experience as a field engineer and researcher.
Pericle has supported the public safety land mobile radio community since 1996 when we were hired by the City of Denver to assist with a particularly difficult 800 MHz interference problem.
Our consulting services span the gamut of land mobile radio engineering tasks including coverage modeling, coverage measurements, simulcast network design, portable radio bench measurements, system alignments, interference resolution, microwave path design, RF exposure measurements, 800 MHz rebanding services, traffic engineering, design of distributed antenna systems (DAS) and RFP preparation.

Much of our consulting work involves tracking down interference sources and resolving interference problems. We perform some of this work for public safety agencies, but most of our interference hunting is done for the four national wireless operators (AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile).
In the absence of coverage measurements, one of the first steps in designing a new land mobile radio system is to model coverage from prospective sites and through trial-and-error, find the smallest number of sites that meets the coverage requirement. Alternatively, one may start with a fixed budget and design for the best overall coverage the budget allows.
