Established in 1943, and purchased in 2016 by Dr. Jeremy Welsh, Shaker Heights Animal Hospital has provided quality veterinary care to the greater Cleveland area for decades. We are proud to be an independently and locally owned and operated hospital. As time changes the face of a city, it also changes the philosophies and perspectives of individuals.
She started as an intern while in school and is now a RVT. Her responsibilities at the clinic have a wide range but her favorite place is assisting in surgery with Dr. Welsh or working on dental prophylaxis. She always comes into work with a positive attitude and a smile. I love working at SHAH because I get to use what I learned in school to help care for and educate our clients on the best practices for their pets.
At Shaker Heights Animal Hospital, it's our first priority to ensure the care and welfare of your pets. We understand pet owners want to provide the best for their four-legged family members, but budgetary issues can be significantly challenging. Dr. Welsh and his team are committed to providing excellent, reasonably priced care for your pets.
Though we do our best to keep our pets healthy, sometimes they become ill. An important part of our health services is the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of pets with diseases that affect their internal organs and body systems. When you bring your pet to Shaker Heights Animal Hospital, rest assured that your pet will receive the highest standards of quality internal medicine available.
Unfortunately our patients are unable to communicate with us the reason they are in pain or do not feel well. That's why it is important to have available the diagnostic tools needed to make a diagnosis so we can get your pet on the road to recovery. To aid in diagnosing your pet, Shaker Heights Animal Hospital offers Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Rhinoscopy, Laryngoscopy, Bronchoscopy and an In-House Laboratory.

Let me start with the fact that I rarely write reviews. Dr. Welch is a new vet to our family with the addition of our new puppy. We have had to have a number of routine and emergency visits to his clinic, and he was always helpful, calm and solution orientated. I also love that his clinic has a virtual option, which has saved us a visit to the emergency vet. Thank you Dr. Welsh and team!

It was our first appointment as a new patient today. I was very impressed! Everyone is very friendly, staff is prompt, very quick and efficient curbside procedure. Doctor and tech both made sure to thoroughly explain everything, offer more info on every question I asked, up front about costs and honest about what was truly a "need" for my pet. I've already booked a procedure and will certainly be staying with this vet!

Dr. Welsh and his team at Shaker Heights Animal Hospital provided wonderful care for my 16 year old dog, Reya, during her younger, healthier times, and then through the challenges of illness and aging. I will… never forget their support, kindness and compassion when it came time to let her go.

Every aspect of Shaker Animal Clinic's operation is first-class and excellent. I would strongly recommend Shaker Animal Clinic to every pet owner. The staff is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, honest, and will act with a swift urgency if pets are in trouble.
They have helped us a ton as we raise our first puppy- and have done so with patience and treated our puppy as if it was their own.
