Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital
Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital provides quality veterinary care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets in Lakewood, Ohio and the surrounding communities. Our modern and inviting hospital boasts superb veterinarians and caring support staff that are dedicated to our patients, clients, and community. We are limiting the number of people to two (2) people per appointment due to exam room size and the ability to social distance.

We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and compliance while we try to make the best decisions for the hospital and the safety of our staff.
Services
Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital has undergone changes and improvements throughout the years in keeping with the many ongoing advancements in veterinary medicine. We focus on providing the highest quality medical and surgical services for your companion animals. The Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital team is committed to providing quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet.
Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital focuses on providing exceptional veterinary care for dogs and cats. Diagnostic imaging allows our veterinarians to look at your pet internally for clues about sickness or injury. Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health to prevent dental disease and tooth loss.
Let Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital provide a professional veterinary exam for your kitten, puppy, cat, or dog. A physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep your pet healthy. Wellness exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.
Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health and is just as important as their annual exams. When oral hygiene is neglected, pets can develop dental disease which negatively affects other systems in the body and may lead to tooth loss. At Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital, we offer dental services, including teeth cleaning, to help your cat or dog live a healthier life.
Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital provides veterinary surgical care and services for cats and dogs. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced team, we'll provide your pet with high-quality surgery in a safe, stress-free and relaxing environment. Our team of skilled veterinarians and technicians are ready to provide your pet with a range of surgeries.

The veterinarian and the staff were prompt regarding my appointment time. They were very attentive and took care of my dog Iggy. I am confident bring an Iggy here for his regular checkup or an emergency visit.

I can't even begin to tell you how stressful that visits usually are for my dogs and I. I have one dog who is terrified of the vet, terrified of the car ride to the vet, and terrified of new places in general. I've been to several vets and had horrible experiences where they just didn't care that she was afraid. The staff at Roberts and wendt were absolutely amazing with her. They were patient gentle and compassionate. I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for this positive experience. I'm hoping that our next visit is much less stressful because my dog understands that not all vets

I am overwhelmed by their response to our dogs needs. They discussed the situation with us. They were comforting and friendly to our dog and us. We will continue the process required to give our dog a healthy and HAPPY life. ❤

We have been taking pets there for more than 15 years. Most recently in the last 4 years for our 2 dogs. The women at the desk are extremely nice, helpful and professional. Most of our usual vets there, especially Dr Wendt, retired and the new one I met was a little short with me, but did actually come out to my car (I took our youngest somewhere else for surgery and never laid eyes on that doctor) and it’s getting a lot more expensive. I don’t like that you still can’t go in with your pet, but that’s still a lot of vets apparently.

This clinic is caring and thoughtful. I was visiting with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice and the front end staff was so nice. Also I love the the signs asking people to wait. The signs are animals! It makes it friendly and welcoming. . Great idea!

I am SO heartbroken and highly disappointed!! I have been a client of Roberts and Wendt for 40 YEARS!! I started coming just before Dr Roberts retired and just as a beautiful, kind and compassionate young doctor, fresh out of Vet school started her career - Dr Victoria Wendt!! Dr Wendt has cared for 6 of my dogs through their lifetimes!!! She… knew their personalities and behaviors - she cared about them individually!! Yesterday - July 3, 2020 I called because my oldest dog Maggie was having breathing issues and I asked if I might get to see Dr Wendt as soon as possible, understanding it

Force Vetcor OUT! Get Dr. Wendt and Dr. Michalosky back, and kick Vetcor a private investment company OUT! This practice has been ruined for good by Vetcor. And with this information so will Vetcor's investment.

I have been coming to this clinic for over 30 years. It is very sad to see every Doctor leave. This office is not answering their phones any longer, in fact there is not even a recording when no one answers. How could this happen?

I’m extremely saddened by the changes that have been made at Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital since its acquisition by VetCor. We stayed because our trusted vets were still there, even though we could see that many of the staff that we’d gotten to know over the years were disappearing as policies were enacted that valued profits over patients. Now… our beloved vet, Dr. Michalosky, has been pushed out of practicing at the hospital he had been with over 20 years.
We have a large animal family with varying special needs and having a vet we could count on meant a lot. Dr Michalosky

Had a surgery scheduled today for our dog with Dr. Michalosky well It's a good thing I asked to talk with him before I left; He is NOT there anymore! No one was going to tell me this? Why would I leave my family pet for surgery with someone who I had never met, and why would you not notify me prior to the scheduled appointment? Dr. M is a great Vet that always showed compassion and would spend as much time as needed for questions. Don't trust this place now, they were just going to not tell me?

Requires seven calls over the course of eight hours to achieve a single goal of getting blood results forwarded for a second opinion. The veterinarians know basic health care and are always in a hurry. You have to be persistent for them to simply check on a symptom you feel is important. If you are looking for vaccinations and maintenance meds- they are fine. If you want to ensure your pet is healthy - best of luck to you here. Their office is extremely outdated and downright archaic. Having to physically pick a large dog onto an examining table? Wow - almost every modern vet has motorized

The staff is so friendly, Dr. Michalosky was so funny and took every inch of worry out of my head. Fees are very reasonable and they are so close to me, so convenient all around. Definitely going to them again!
Edit: adding in a photo of my little lady to show that she is definitely confident in a one-piece. ;)

Affordable, friendly and very comfortable experience.

Brought my cat in to get a check up, he had been drooling heavily for a few days and I had concerns about his teeth. We previously had dental work done about a year ago at another Vet, but not everything they had "recommended" because the full dental for a cat there was about 800+$.

Dr. Gano was very friendly and informative, she said that his teeth weren't as bad as the other vet made them out to be and that no operations were necessary. She also said that his drooling was most likely due to him eating a bug or something

I took my drama queen dog here after she was sick and it was my first time ever bringing here. The wait time was outrageous. A regular customer left after waiting an hr and I almost left after 45 minutes, considering I made an appointment and wasn't seen on time and still had a dental appointment to go to myself. Once I threatened to leave I was seen pretty quickly and the vet was really nice, but I guess I would be nice too, if I could make $130 bucks just for giving a dog 2 shots and feeling around on their bellies and teeth. I saw 3 people check out before me and their vet bills were just

My wife and I came here on the suggestion of a good friend. The first time I went, our female cat, Mallory had been sneezing for about a week, and we just wanted to make sure that it wasn't a bacterial infection. Dr. Gano looked her over, did a quick physical exam and concluded that as we suspected, it was a viral infection and should pass. She asked that we give it another week and if it hadn't cleared up, suggested we return. Having visited a number of different animal hospitals previously, I had expected that I'd walk out with an empty wallet, but the price she charged for her

You can tell they really love animals. they havent got used to them and just dont care anymore... like human doctors mostly seem to do. Dr. Gano is amazing. Im sure she does this to everyone/every animal, but she gives my cat extra special attention, and that goes a long way for my little nervous nelly.

i never feel like they take advantage of any situation, and are just great vets. they have taken my cat in during an emergency, for their last appointment, which they certainly did not have to do.

this is my first pet as an adult, and im forever thankful roberts & wendt was my first vet experience
