Services
Kinetic Massage Works was established in 2009 with a goal of helping people who want to help themselves. We are oriented toward pain relief and treating the underlying conditions rather than merely treating symptoms. The journey began when the owner, while still in massage school, mentioned to the instructor that she had a 'stepping on hot razor blades' pain in the morning.
Micaela has been massaging since she was 4, and her father had migraines. She would walk on his back and work on his shoulders. In 2007, she graduated from Avalon School of Massage and worked for chiropractors before opening Kinetic Massage Works. An expert in deep tissue, sports, myofascial release, and structural reintegration therapies, Micaela also offers prenatal massage and plantar fasciitis treatments.
No two bodies are the same, and even your body will not be the same from day to day and from massage to massage. Some days you will be able to tolerate more pressure and other days you won't. Every time we have a session the therapist will ask you about where your discomfort is how much pressure you'd like for this session.
Deep tissue massage is the most often misunderstood aspect of massage therapy. Deep tissue isn't only the amount of pressure the therapist uses during the session--it's a little of that of course--but it refers to the advanced training a top-notch therapist has in reaching through the superficial muscles and treating the muscles lying underneath.
A trigger point is a spasm within a muscle that can cause pain elsewhere in the body. For example, a point in the back may trigger referred pain in the neck. The neck may then cause pain in the head. The pain can range from a dull throb to sharp intense bursts of pain radiating through the spine. Trigger point massage therapies are implemented to relax the source of the spasm through cycles of pressure and release.

Danielle was amazing and my first visit was life changing! I now have a clear understanding of the phrase “hurts so good.” She relieved so much pain and tightness in one hour, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t found this place sooner. I've been seeing Micaela and her staff for more than 3 years and won't go anywhere else for a massage. I started going to Kinetic Massage Works because I was having trouble sleeping, which Micaela fixed (she is truly magic), and as other problems arose, including overtraining, she kept me in shape so I could keep lifting and running and living life. I see her now for tweaks and fixes and I always benefit from it. She is incredibly precise- this woman knows her craft. The team at Kinetic massage is hands down one of the best massage therapy groups I have ever worked with professionally as well for my personal care. As a chiropractor, I see a need for regular manual therapy (massage) for my patients to maintain flexibility and all around improved function. Micaela and Danny are both highly skilled and gifted therapists. They have both gone above and beyond (really) to help me in other matters outside of the massages itself. Extremely grateful and very blessed to live nearby. Everything else about the business is A+ as well: the pricing, overall environment, office setting, and the little details such as placing a towel on your eyes after turning over. I have been receiving massages from Micaela for 8 years. I have a stressful, albeit sedentary job, but I also play competitive tennis, so my musculature issues greatly vary. There have been occasions when I walk in unable to stand upright and after an hour with Micaela, I'm good to go. I'm continually in awe (and thankful) of her Knowledge and ability to heal/ fix the human body .

A friend gave me a gift certificate to Kinetic Massage Works as a birthday gift. As my husband and I are new to town, my friend purchased the gift based on the reviews. This was the BEST gift!
