You can drive by this restaurant and not realize what you missed!!!! The turn-in to the parking lot is quick also!
My son was invited to a friend's birthday party here. It's a very intimate and cozy ambience; a series of turns until reaching the small banquet area. There was room for about 15 of us and a table with appetizers was set up at the entrance to the dining area. (The vegetable rolls were beyond words!!!!)
Everyone had the option to order their own plate: Chicken, Salmon.....
I ordered the chicken and when I seen the serving size, I didn't think I would finish it. But it was cooked

Not what I would consider Thai food at all. My partner and I ordered a few appetizers and main courses. The red chicken curry and red duck curry were not what we expected when ordering Thai food. Both had the core components but weren't even close to what you would get at other nearby places... ahem.... Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Each had a protein that was grilled or baked, not even cooked or sliced into the sauce. The veggies were more basic than Chinese food, not even a sliver of ginger or other Thai botanicals. Beautiful location, shameful food...

I really wasn’t so happy about the food... for the price it just didn’t seem good enough to choose this for my Asian food place. Pad Thai was alright but nothing that would trump another location. Customer service is the only thing getting them 3 stars, the woman who helped us was genuinely lovely.

If a specific ingredient in a dish on the menu is important to you, for example tofu in the vegetable curry, ask before you order that they have it. Your dish might come without and I assume they hope you won't notice it. When you point it out, the server just says, "Oh yeah, that , we don't have it!". Why it's it on your menu then? And why didn't you tell me when I was ordering?

One of the Scranton-areas best, upscale Asian restaurants. Live jazz trio on Wednesday nights. Business casual attire is fine. The food was excellent and the portions were large enough that no one in our party left hungry (plus some of us took home leftovers). The staff was terrific and the decor was classy without being overwhelming. My wife and I left with plans for what we'll order next time we go.

We visited tonight for the first time in many years for our anniversary. We tried the seafood ravioli appetizer special, the Cantonese noodle bowl and the surf and turf special. All were delicious! The filet was wonderfully tender and cooked perfectly, and my husband really enjoyed the noodles, which was a large portion. We will definitely be back for another special occasion.

I highly recommend Formosa . Food is consistently great. I have been eating there for at least 5 years or more and it's great. Seafood ravioli is fabulous. Chef is very consistent. I actually crave their food and go at least every few months . Really , this is one of the best restaurants in Scranton area . Also the atmosphere is wonderful. Beautiful decor. Wonderful service . No rushing you through your meal. You will definitely not be sorry !!!

I travel for work so all I do is eat out. The environment is nice with faux plants and all. Service is good. Very intimate. I got the lobster and my girlfriend got the curry. The sauce was good but the quality of the meat is sub par. The chicken was under cooked and had a very rubbery and rough texture. I drove 25 minutes to get here and was disappointed for sure. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you have experienced outside of small town Asian cuisine.

One of the best restaurants in the area. The menu has a variety of enjoyable staples with signature sauces like champagne saffron and Thai basil. Specials are also offered nightly and just add to the awesomeness of the menu. Each meal is well prepared and tasty. Highly recommended for an enjoyable dinner.

To be completely honest, I didn't think restaurants like this existed up here. No offense to anyone form these parts, I think I have a pass to say that as my hubby is from NEPA (Northeastern PA). We came for a date night on a Friday at 9:30pm and the place was empty. We were hoping that wasn't a sign. It definitely wasn't!

I have been eating here for more than 10 years.. Everything about this place is classy.. The food is extremely, and I mean extremely good.. The atmosphere is perfect.. Low lighting, not too bright.. They serve alcohol, and the bartender has always been on point with drinks. Restrooms are extremely clean which is always a plus. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure they accommodate you in every way. Hands down one of my favorite places in NEPA..

Never had a bad meal ! The crispy honey duck is a favorite of mine a close runner up is the Filet butter , garlic ! The waiters are not only good at their jobs but have great personalities to boot. Thursday night is live jazz night, and is nice and relaxing to dine to.
Pad Thai also VERY good
I will end this review with saying save room for dessert! They are all fantastic I am a huge fan of the homemade coconut ice cream

Amazing decor, very Asian... check out the ceiling. Great for dates, families, special occasions.
Asian fusion food with incredible presentation. Everything on the menu is excellent. Service is very professional, top-notch. The servers are very attentive and knowledgeable.
-It is a laid-back atmosphere, but don't sweatpants here. Dress nice.
