When Dr. Anthony Castellano is asked what he loves most about dentistry his face lights up. Dr. Castellano grew up just outside of Tampa, Florida. He came to Richmond almost 20 years ago with his wife Rosa where they both attended Virginia Commonwealth University.
After graduating from dental school at VCU and having their first two children here in RVA, they decided to try a life in the Green Mountains of Vermont where he became a partner in a large, progressive practice. It was there that they added 2 more children to their family. The six of them kept chickens, gardened, and hiked the beautiful mountains that were outside their doorstep.

The best way to prevent problems with your teeth and gums is with routine dental care. Brushing and flossing play a significant role in this dental health maintenance, as does visiting your dentist on a regular basis. The American Dental Association recommends seeing your dentist every six months for a thorough check-up.
An emergency is any situation you haven't planned for that calls for immediate action. A dental emergency is any surprising problem involving teeth, gums or jaw. Many of the various types and levels of dental emergencies involve pain, swelling, or bleeding - sometimes a broken or loose tooth. The cause of the emergency could be accident or trauma; other times symptoms may have begun slowly and built up over time.
Believe it or not, a child's first trip to the dentist can be fun, painless and enjoyable. A child does not necessarily come into this life with a fear of the dentist. However, like the rest of us, a young person can fear the unknown. At our office, we make a special effort to use language that is friendly and easily understood.
When the soft tissue inside your teeth, containing blood vessels and nerves become inflamed or diseased, two treatment choices are available. In days gone by, the only choice was the removal of the tooth. Now, the tooth can often be saved with a procedure known as a root canal. A root canal is a relatively simple procedure, usually requiring three visits to the dentist.

What a great practice. Truly warm and caring group of professionals.I needed some work ASAP, and they managed to get me in, meet Dr Castellano (who was AMAZING), and get the work done the following day!! He was gentle, thorough, and reassuring. The staff helped me through all the difficulties of dealing with the insurance company, getting dental records, etc.
Highly recommend this practice.

My experience here was amazing. I'm not the type to leave reviews but when I walk into a place of business and feel like there is genuine care for the patient/customer I have to leave a review. My experience from first walking in the door throughout the whole process was spectacular. They really care here and take the time to explain every step of the way what is going on. If I could give a 10 I would. But I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone.

I loved going here!!! It was my first time here and they made me feel comfortable during my visit! I came an hour too early, and they were kind enough to see me then! I didn't have my insurance card so they printed out the info for me. Super awesome staff!!! The dental hygienist explained everything that she was doing and what everything meant which I love. Overall my visit was amazing and I had the best convos with my hygienist I highly recommend coming here!!

Even though I moved from the Richmond area many years ago, Dr Sterling was my first dentist around the age of 5 or 6 years told. Yes around the time that he opened this office. He always had a smile. He had great patience when I was scared of the x-Ray machine. Yes I still remember that. His staff has always been wonderful. My mother could tell you a few stories on his great staff back in the day. I still recommend folks to go to his office that lives in the Richmond area!
