Everyone experiences difficult times. No matter where you are in life, there are certain times when we all can benefit from an experienced, trained professional to help us deal with emotional stress and problems that can seem insurmountable and overwhelming. As a licensed, professional counselor, I can help you identify the source of your problems and develop ways and methods to cope with or change the situations at hand.

My name is Richard Miller and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private practice in Fort Worth, Texas. After more than 25 years in private practice I have provided treatment for most conditions a mental health professional might run across. Throughout my years in practice I have worked with local psychiatrists, pediatricians, school counselors, and other practitioners to coordinate treatment for clients whenever it can be helpful.
Services
As a participating provider in most of the major insurance networks, my services may be filed on your insurance provided they meet the requirements of the insurance company for covered mental health services and diagnosis. Many insurance companies require that you first set an appointment in my office and then call your insurance company back to set up an authorization for treatment.
Calling my office is the quickest way to set up counseling appointments in Fort Worth. This may require you to leave me a message by pressing the number 2 so that you may reach my confidential mailbox. Please leave me your name and a couple of phone numbers where you can be reached. Calls are usually returned within a couple of hours.
E-mail is available for your convenience. However, to schedule an appointment please call my office and leave a message. Please keep your e-mails brief so that I may respond to any specific questions you may have in a timely manner. The full history of your situation is best understood during your initial session.
Working with clients who have addiction issues frequently includes the involvement of family other treatment provides, but most of all the commitment of the individual. My treatment methods do not follow a "12-step" program, but one is often recommended as an adjunct to counseling, depending on the personality of the client.
The term itself sounds so clich and makes us think more of a movie by the same name than the debilitating and sometimes destructive outcome of anger. It is usually seen as a powerful expression and frequently used as such to protect one's self emotionally when really feeling inferiority or a lack of self-confidence.
