Had a fabulous time here at the resort. We stayed in Blarney Castle, and while the room was pretty dated, it was beautiful. I loved that each room had its own bathroom. The only bad thing is that they charge for towels- seems weird. I visited during the Christmas season, and everything looked beautiful with the lights!
The restaurant in the Lodge... not great. Did not enjoy the food, but the service was very accommodating to our large party. The bar, on the other hand, wasn't bad at all! I'm not a bar person but had a nice time.

I've been going up to Garmisch my entire life, and it never disappoints. I don't have as much experience with staying over there, although the rooms are VERY nice, but we always go for a day trip in October. The views are beautiful, the leaves are stunning, and the lodge itself is extremely cozy and nostalgic for me personally. Great food if you can catch dining room hours. Good bar food otherwise. Very whimsical and magical place that you just have to experience for yourself!

This is a great stay & has that awesome small town WI feel. They place has quite a heritage and does have something for everyone...as long as they're from WI (or at least at heart!). The Supper club at the Garmisch is very good and I really enjoyed the combo plate! The resort, the lake, the bar, the supper club, & yes...the outdoors. Thank you all at the G!

Did not stay here but stopped for breakfast. Service was poor and food was less than average. We had a table of 6. My husband did not get toast with his omelette and when he asked he was told it would be extra when on the menu it was listed as included. Then it took until everyone else was done eating to get his toast. I ordered the eggs and french toast with ham. I never got the ham, french toast was cold and tough. Had to ask twice for syrup and waited a long time to get it. My friend ordered the belly buster and never got the hash browns that are part of that order. Etc. Etc. Don't think we

This place is great. The outside is so cool with it's castle like exterior. The inside is like stepping back in time but updated. The view of the lake is phenomenal. Especially when eat in their restaurant. My husband had the parmesan crusted/breaded fillet of lake walleye fish/fresh steamed broccoli & a bowl of fresh made parmesan asparagus soup delicious!! I had the wild mushrooms & chicken in tossed house made Alfredo Sauce. Yummy!! For dessert my husband had the New York Cheesecake/ with strawberry topping on the side to go. I had the German Chocolate Cake & the Garmisch Bread Pudding warmed

My husband & I were wowed by the impressive Inn, restaurant, bar, service, and most of all the food. We started with a delicious order of escargot, (recommended by our fabulous server Ericka), then shared a bowl of clam chowder, where the clams were plentiful & taste was outstanding. We enjoyed a couple of fresh & delicious rolls while waiting for our entrees. I had the best fish fry with broccoli rice gratin while my husband devoured his baked haddock. We were extremely pleased with all of our selections, including the traditional old fashioned, while seated at a table for two with an incredible

Stopped yesterday for fish fry. Absolutely delicious fried pollock with a huge baked potato on the side. Friends got the baked and enjoyed it thoroughly. Washed down with one of the best old fashioneds I've ever had.
Service was okay, and the bartender was not wearing a mask (when we walked past) so I'm knocking it down to 3 stars.

This place looked amazing! Didn't stay at the resort but stopped for an afternoon drink and snack on the way back from Copper Falls. Such a beautiful place with amazing views and just such a cute place to possibly stay on our next trip up. Our waiter was so awesome, I don't remember his name, but he was working the afternoon of 7/24! The lake views are incredible here. You may see us again next year!

We ate lunch here on 10/12/19 during a musky fishing tournament. We were disappointed that there wasn't any chili on the menu that day. Actually there wasn't much of a menu and everything was a little pricey. I've ate supper here before and was pleased. I'll have to remember not to stop here for lunch again.

Disappointed with Jager Schnitzel
Drinks good and generous but I went for the German food. I lived in Germany for 2 1/2 years and back several times I love the German food.
I went to Garmish for the German food but very disappointed with the Jaeger Schnitzel. The cream mushroom sauce had no flavor. Tasted like warm heavy cream with 4 small slices of mushroom and NO spices. Blah.
To be fair atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was excellent and the red cabbage was very good.

Charming place to stay. Beautiful views of the lake.peaceful, quiet. Cannot say enough good things about the kindness of the staff. This was our third stay at Garmisch.
We were not impressed however with the dinning experiences at our last visit . Previously the food and the service at the bar and in the restaurant had been outstanding and special . We ate there everyday and evening of our stay. This time , the service was bad, the food service staff seemed stressed and anxious. The food was of very poor quality. Actually tasteless. Friday night fish fry , the entire plate of food was cold. We

I am reading the other reviews. It seems to be great or miserable. We got miserable. Never again.
Our room was furnished with a fridge and microwave; plenty of towels and comfy beds. On arrival to the room it was freezing cold. They said we couldn't adjust the thermostat, but "he" would turn it off since it was early evening. It got better.
We arrived on a Thursday and wanted dinner that night. We were told we could only eat at 5:30 as another group was coming in at 7p. So we figured, no biggie. The staff was great but appeared frantic. When my entree arrived the potato pancakes

72 ladies arrived at Garmisch to walk and kayak and eat lunch today. The weather was lovely, the lake beautiful and the lunch was absolutely fabulous! We are all local. We had a choice of hamburger, chicken sandwich with avocado and red onion, or a mixed salad with grilled shrimp. All came with choice of French fries or sweet potato fries. It was beautifully presented and was fresh and tasted wonderful! Thank you Garmisch! Thank you Cheryl Amundson who helped us put it together.

My favorite up-North destination!
Located on the shores of Lake Namakagon for nearly 100 years, Garmisch is one of very few "old-school" lodge-style resorts that have stood the test of time. If it weren't for the Big-buck hunter game in the bar and the Cadillac Escalades in the parking lot, you'd have a hard time discerning the year. Step into the "grand room" and you'll find pictures of the resort dating back to its origins in 1926. The fireplace and the taxidermy are all still there. Although there have been some additions and remodelings, all have been in

I stumbled across this resort on the internet years ago, and we've been coming back ever since we first stayed.
We've stayed in the Squid cabin (pet friendly) several times, and once in the lodge. We generally have visited in the fall/winter but once stayed in August.
The Squid has its own deck next to the lake, and you can easily walk to the restaurant or lounge from one of the cabins. And the Squid does actually remind me of a place we stayed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the angled ceilings, bathroom skylight and some of the decor.
If you hear the word cabin and cringe thinking of

Northern WI is an interesting place. Full of hidden gems for the finding if you are not familiar with the area. On a fall Friday night we (boyfriend and I) decided to venture north to Cable, WI to check out Garmisch USA Resort for dinner. Note, this is only a dinner review of Garmisch Inn Restaurant and Lodge, not a review about a stay at the resort. I had been to Cable before to eat at the Brick House Cafe and to spectate at the Chequamegon Fat Tire festival at the old Telemark Resort but I've never been much farther down County Hwy M than that. Let me tell that I am not from the area and
