Your pet deserves our complete attention during their time with us. We promise to listen attentively to your concerns and give your pet the best medical care available. Kayleen Gloor and Natasha Ungerer, founders and owners of Clarendon Animal Care. Services
Clarendon Animal Care is a veterinary hospital founded on the shared vision of Dr. Gloor and Dr. Ungerer. We opened our doors to the pet-loving Clarendon community in 2015, and have grown our staff to 9 full-time veterinarians that provide the best animal care available. Dr. Laura Lockhart spearheaded the venture and was then joined by Drs.
Clarendon Animal Care is here to help you and your pet develop a strong and enduring bond over a long and healthy life. Protect your pet's well being with our nose-to-tail checkup at least once a year.

We'll take good care of your pet with a balanced approach to vaccinations, parasite prevention, weight management, dental health, spay and neutering, microchip pet identification, behavioral management, and regular screenings for diseases that afflict pets at various life stages. We believe in quality animal health care, building lasting relationships with both our patients and their owners.
There is a small, non-metered parking lot behind our building that is available for use by our patrons. We have 7 dedicated CAC parking spots in this lot. There is also metered parking on 10th, Highland, & Garfield Streets. We have limited Urgent Care appointments that are booked the same day when we otherwise do not have available regular appointment slots.
We're here to make your pet feel better and return to their happy and carefree animal life. Our low-stress team uses state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to provide you with a fast and accurate treatment plan. We can get rapid results with our in-house laboratory diagnostics. Our vet clinic also includes digital general radiology, digital dental radiology, and ultrasound to get urgently needed imaging results for a complete diagnosis.
We use the Summus Class IV Therapy Laser. It works on a specific wavelength of infrared and near-red light that improves oxygen delivery to the tissues, healing time, reduces pain, increases circulation, and decreases swelling. We use the laser to help your cat or dog with their surgical incisions, wounds, lick granulomas, ear infections, arthritis, and many more conditions.

I can’t say enough good things about CAC. We are first time puppy parents and started visiting CAC when our golden was 10 weeks old.
Not only are office visits calm, not rushed, and oriented around ensuring a positive dog experience, but the staff really goes out of their way to make sure the humans have all their questions answered. I also can’t thank the front desk staff enough who I’ve talked to several times in a panicked, first time puppy mom state.
They are great at providing helpful advise to let you know what is normal, what is cause for concern, and helping get care/meds arranged

Great service and care. I brought my cat Taco in for a check up, they have soothing music and soft surfaces in the exam room to make it as comfortable as possible. Taco didn’t even realize he was at the vet!! Highly recommend.

They now allow people (wearing face masks) go to inside with their pets which is good. Very nicely decorated and comfy space. See my new photos.

This clinic is conveniently located in Clarendon; staff are cheerful and friendly; above all they are very responsive on emails and phones; we especially appreciate how Dr. Adkins even responded to an email about illness on a Saturday. Due to COVID, they practice social distancing and do not allow clients in their lobby. We had to wait outside, call them, and they came outside to meet us. Overall the best part about this clinic is their responsiveness

Poorly trained and unprofessional front desk staff. My dog has been having chronic gastrointestinal issues unresolved by my current vet so I was eager for a second opinion. I spoke to a staff member yesterday and was given the option to either establish care as a new client or call the next morning at opening to get an urgent care appointment. I called this morning and found out that the prior staff member misinformed me. This was disappointing since I could’ve spent that time to seek out care from an alternative provider, but I understand that a mistake was made and that is the policy. I understand

I took my dog here for a number of years however with the pandemic and more people getting pets they clearly need to hire more people. Every time I have tried to make an appointment there is nothing available for days or if outside of work hours…weeks. Also, they seem to have a lot of turnover in vets as I think we saw the same person once or twice. Finally, they charge fees for random things. For a number of services they charge a vet tech fee plus the price of the service. Why would the vet techs, who presumably have less training than the actual vets, command an additional premium? I’m given

It is not easy for me to post a disparaging review.
I've only been to this practice once. I didn't know until I got there they don't trim cat's claws.

A few days ago my cat was a attacked and there was a hole (you could see through it) in his backside. He was bleeding and in pain. I contacted 5 ER vets on Sunday and they all said they had an 8 hour wait. On Monday I called this practice and explained to the person who answered that my cat had been attacked, had a hole in his backside and was bleeding. I needed to bring him in, she said there were no appointments for two weeks

My girlfriend and i have only had our new cat for two months who is a senior cat age 10 and we have already spent over $1200 in vet bills. We expected a considerable amount due to his age but this vet office conducts procedures and tests for things they do not upfront disclose to you in terms of what they are doing as well as the price.
This is something we do not appreciate since we have spent so much on vet bills. Our most recent vet bill we were charged extra for things we did not know were going to be tested until after the testing concluded. When we asked for a refund since we did not consent

I adopted a dog in April 2020 and was having a hard time finding a vet that was accepting new clients due to COVID. CAC was able to see make an appointment for my dog almost right away and the process was very smooth and easy. My dog is reactive towards other dogs and they were very understanding and accommodating. We always went in the back door and they made sure the coast was clear before bringing him in. As a new dog owner I had always heard horror stories of pets hating the vet, but after the first visit Gus would always go bounding in he was so excited. Once he was so excited that he hurt

Had such a poor experience at Clarendon Animal care. This is an EXTREMELY money hungry vet clinic. We brought our pet in six times for the same (very common issue) before we were able to get them treated and better. The vet seemed more concerned about bringing in more money to the clinic than actually helping my pet. It was to the point where they even refused to do blood work one time because the pet was afraid. Nothing was offered to help relax my pet. No they were much happier to have us come back so we could be charged for multiple visits. In the end what should have taken one or two visits

We usually go to their Clarendon location, but was sent here because they are updating their scheduling system there. First time here and had a good impression. First of all, the wait time is much less. In Clarendon, we often had to wait outside forever (30-60 minutes, imagine!) and we are always on time for our appointment.

Here, in the South location, we arrived on time and they saw our dog on time. No wait. They also allowed you inside (socially distanced and masked) which is much better. You no longer have to wait outside and talk to the doctor on the phone and wait for them to come outside

I was referred to the urgent care at the South location after my dog got chocolate poisoning.

Dr. Lockhart and the clinician worked swiftly and were able to get my dog to vomit out the chocolate WITHIN ONE HOUR of ingestion. I am very grateful.

Solid COVID management. I was required to have my temperature checked before I entered the facility. I appreciate being able to go into the clinic with my sick dog.

Parking is the same as the Harris Teeter garage. Very easy parking.

Honored to give the newest branch of Clarendon Animal Care their first (of what I'm sure will be many) 5 star reviews.

When your dog wakes you up whining at 4am in the morning, there's a few things that could be wrong. Often it's because they need to go to the restroom, unfortunately last night it was a little more serious. French Toast exited her cage and shook her head, flopping her ears back and forth, and then continued to walk around shaking her head.

I knew from previous Pet Googling that this was likely an ear infection. I took her out... she didn't go potty and brought
