Obesity is a growing problem for almost 50% of pets just like the human obesity epidemic. Weight gain can impact a pet's quality of life. Obesity is usually caused by infrequent exercise, coupled with a poor diet and too many treats and can be linked to hypothyroidism. Obesity in pets can lead to heart, liver, pancreas, circulatory and orthopedic problems.

Dr. Kinser is an amazing Vet. We had to put our 11 year old dog down. Dr. Kinser made me feel very comfortable. She explained how everything worked. Gave me as much time as I needed with Kota before she was gone. Dr. Kinser was amazing and I'll never forget her. She even sent a sympathy card a few days later! Highly recommended this vet.

Summary at the end of the review - this is pretty long.
The experience we had at Coulter Animal Hospital was absolutely nightmarish. My partner and I both work with animals and have handled cats and dogs for years, and our 3-month old kitten Huckleberry was losing weight and lethargic. We scheduled an emergency appointment here out of a lack of… options, and by the time we arrived he was completely limp.
Dr. David Hodges did not introduce himself when he walked in. He used a thermometer without lubricant, and when our 2.3 lb kitten struggled out of obvious pain, Hodges and the vet tech restrained

My 2 dogs have been diagnosed with kidney failure since 2011. They get homeopathic drops the help support their kidneys, low phosphorus kidney dog food, and an IV of normosol-R on a regular bases. After a vet appointment I asked for a written Rx for dry dog food as back up. (Week prior I was trying to get a refill of dog food but the vet would not approve because the vet I normally see was on vacation even though they have the records of them having kidney problems) At check out I was later told it is a $27 prescription fee for each item that I would want to have. But they didn't have a problem

I have been going to CAH since my Rott was a pup. We’ve seen Dr. Kinser every time. Today I had to take him because he had an ear infection and Dr Hodges was only available. As soon as I got there my Rott was definitely iffy about Dr. Hodges and he didn’t even try to make my dog comfortable and straight with the muzzle (I understand). After that he… was basically talking down and also telling me how to use my shock collar (that we’ve had training on by my dogs trainer). After we were checking out he noted “i didnt put my notes in because I was making sure he would

Dr. Hodges is an excellent vet and surgeon. He's been our vet for 18 years. He's nursed all of our pound puppies and strays to health. He's totally focused on the animal during the visit. You can totally trust him. Carol, the groomer, is the best. The dogs are never traumatized after a grooming and even the most fearful pup comes to love her.

My pup (12 years old) was sent home with a shock collar still around his neck today. Prior, I have loved this place as they are very friendly and helpful, but whoever condones the use of a shock collar on another persons pet, especially without their consent, doesn't deserve to be in this profession.
I highly recommend going elsewhere and from now on, asking if the vet condones the use of shock collars on their patients. Absolutely ridiculous.

They have a great, friendly staff. I drop off my dog for grooming regularly and they recognize him as soon as we walk in. It can be nerve wrecking to drop off your dearly loved pets(babies), but they are so sweet and genuine. Yes, Dr. Hodges is dry, but that doesn't change the fact that he is an excellent vet with years of experience under his belt. Dr. Kinser is sweet and also excellent. The staff is great at sending reminders for shots, appointments, check ups, and medications.

Dr. Hodges has taken care of five of my cats. My oldest cat was 19 years old. My first cat broke his leg in a fan belt accident and Dr. Hodges plated his tibia and he lived to be 15 years old. Another one of my cats he treated for hyperthyroidism. He just neutered my six month old kitten and it cost me $140. The previous review is obviously fabricating cost and other information.
