Dr. Michael Tesmer is a native Floridian who earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida. He continued his post-graduate periodontal training at UF, completing a three year residency in periodontics. He served as Chief Resident and was very involved in academic instruction, community service, lecturing and investigational research.
The first visit to a new doctor's office is can be stressful. We hope to ease some of that stress and provide you with a friendly experience, starting with the moment you walk in our office. Our reception area is a place where you can relax for those few minutes prior to your visit. Often, people take this time to complete the necessary paperwork such as medical history and personal information.
Our goal is to provide periodontal treatment in a warm and caring environment. We understand financial pressures and our treatment recommendations tend to be conservative whenever possible. We also strive to make treatment affordable by keeping our fees reasonable and providing a variety of financial options.
In addition to being board certified in periodontics & dental implant surgery, Dr. Tesmer and Dr. Langston stay on the leading edge of periodontal & implant techniques and equipment. LANAP is a gentle, conservative, non-invasive method of treating gum disease without cutting, suturing or removing tissue.
A key to the safety and success of complex dental surgery is advanced radiography. Cone beam digital CT scanning allows us to take 3-Dimensional, low radiation, high resolution CT scans of your facial anatomy. We can then view these images from different angles, take precise measurements, and easily share 3-D data with other doctors.

I was referred to Dr Tesmer after breaking my teeth in a fall. The receptionist was kind enough to work me in that day. Dr Tesmer was so knowledgeable and took his time evaluating me and answering any questions. Then he worked me into his surgery schedule at the end of the day a couple days later. Dr. Tesmer and a couple Tesmer ended up having to stay very late. I felt bac but they took it all in stride. I can't say enough how much I appreciate Dr. Tesmer and all the Staff at Contemporary Periodontics! What a great Team!!

This office really ensures you’re comfortable and informed about your procedure! Vanessa was amazing every time I saw her, friendly, caring, and gentle. The reviews are right. This place is top notch. Appointment was on time. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and organized. Dr. Tesmer pays close attention and is not rushed at all. My wife & I are patients of Dr.s Langston & Tesmer. They provide excellent care and always are attentive to our oral health needs. The doctors are thorough and keep up to date with the latest professional knowledge and current treatments in periodontics and implants. Pam our hygienist is most diligent in her examination of my mouth and thorough cleaning our teeth with concern for our comfort during treatment. The office manager Tracy is very professional and supervises the office so that it always runs efficiently and on time. Tracy and the staff make the patient feel part of their dental 'family

Dr Langston is the best! Very caring, makes sure you are comfortable at all times. Gives you a follow up call the day after your surgery to see how you are and if there is anything you need or they can do for you. Staff is awesome!!! They also take great care of you and make you feel like you are part of the "family ". They all know your name even if they are not assisting that visit. Explains every step of your procedure. Would include photos but you can't see much of the work inside, have pictures of bruising as there was a lot of surgery at once.

Been a patient of Dr Langston’s for a good number of years now. The treatment I’ve received has been extraordinary- the entire staff is exceptional and always helpful and accommodating. I’m there twice a year for a cleaning with Pam - I can’t imagine going anywhere else. She’s the best. And Dr Langston has been the best also- caring, professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
