Services
Our practice is focused on staying current with the latest techniques and technology. Our entire staff is CPR certified and attends annual training to ensure we are OSHA compliant. The Drs. and hygienists well exceed the mandatory annual continuing education hours Drs. 15 hrs.; hygienists 6 hrs.
Both Drs. are also members of local dental study clubs and all staff members attend applicable sessions and obtain additional training pertinent to their job responsibilities.Debby graduated from Owens/Findlay University in 1997 (Ohio) with a degree in Business Management.

Eric William Burns was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Upon completion of High School in Algiers, LA, Dr. Burns enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served 6 years active duty in Hawaii and Okinawa, Japan. He then decided to attend Southeastern Louisiana State University in Hammond, LA for his Bachelor of Science Degree.

Because our approach to client care begins with a thorough comprehensive examination, we have reserved a New patient appointment for you which will last approximately 60 minutes. During this visit, we will work with you to develop a treatment plan that specifically meets your dental goals.
We give thorough, comprehensive clinical examinations to every new patient at Burns Family Dentistry. This evaluation inspects gums, bone and teeth through our state of the art digital radiographs and intraoral cameras. The dentists at Burns Family Dentistry do full oral cancer screenings during this initial exam.
We highly believe that preventative cleanings, care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. Receiving regular dental cleanings and exams are an essential part of an overall plan to maintain your oral health and ultimately prevent dental disease or "cavities". Our experienced dental hygienists perform these thorough cleanings for you.

I was visiting Wilmington and in an emergency situation regarding the loss of a filling on New Years Eve day and this OUTSTANDING team not only responded to my text, but they actually called and talked me through the situation, offering a temporary solution until they could see me in their office on the following business day. I called 10 other dental offices, majority of them offering an emergency number to call/text. When I did, NONE of them responded, answered or even tried to call me back to this date. I have been a patient of burns family dentistry since they opened and have always felt very well cared for. I also bring my kids here and they are great with them. Today they went above and beyond for me. I have been in pain for several days and came in this morning in bad shape. They, As always, laid out my options and got me the care I needed right away even though it was the day before a holiday. Thank you for making my thanksgiving and birthday enjoyable! I just moved to Wilmington and was referred to Burns Family Dentistry.
As I had been in the same dental practice MY ENTIRE LIFE, I was apprehensive. My first visit was excellent! Very thorough, and an excellent cleaning. Dr. Eric was straight forward and professional. I am looking forward to a successful relationship for me and my husband at Burns. In addition, the front office is a pleasure to deal with, and they came through on calling us when they received a cancellation. THAT is very much appreciated. Many thanks to all!

Awesome place! From start to finish, I was well cared for with every detail being explained. Victoria was amazingly informative as my Treatment Coordinator and Karen was incredibly gentle as my Dental Hygienist; Dr. Casey Burns took great care to make sure I understood every single detail. 100% HIGHLY recommend this practice!

Fantastic place! I think at this point I have seen 2 of the 3 doctors, and they all treated me with kindness, understanding, and you can clearly they actually paid attention to who I was and what I was going through. They made going to the dentist after childhood dental neglect easy and non-shameful. HIGHLY recommend.

I've been here a few times now as a new patient for both cleanings and a filling. Everyone I've encountered is super friendly and really wants to make sure the patient is as comfortable as possible. I also like that they explain everything they're doing as they do it instead of keeping me in the dark. Definitely recommend Burns Family Dentistry!

Burns is fantastic every time I go. They really do take care of you. Best dentists in town by far. I have had a few fillings replaced by them and they feel and look great. Much higher quality than my last dentist. Also had them put in a crown on a tooth that broke due to an old filling, and the crown feels like its my own tooth vs another crown that feels fake from the old dentist. Prices also seem to be on par with other places in town. You definitely don't want to go cheap on dental care because you will run into more issues down the road.

I'm new to the area so I had to rely on Yelp to help choose my physicians/Dentist. I had not yet contacted Burns Family Dentistry to make a new patient appointment when my tooth broke around 4pm Tuesday. I called immediately to see if I could get in. They booked me an appointment the next day and my appointment is scheduled the beginning of next week since the tooth isn't visible or causing problems. I am very impressed with the service and immediate attention I got in this last minute circumstance. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. I look forward to returning for future

I am so glad I found this practice when I relocated to Wilmington. It's a husband and wife team and not only are they great dentists, but they are also very customer service focused. Everyone is super friendly, they have all the modern equipment and they explain everything they are doing. They understand that the cost of dental care is high, so they work with you and your insurance to make it as painless as possible! And I love the bird feeders in the windows...

Since my old dentist retired I've been looking for a new one. I went to a more renown office to less than stellar results and wanted to get a second opinion so I asked some friends and they recommended Burns. The previous dentists that I went to had a revolving door type feeling, as in, go in for a cleaning, take x-rays, and then leave. At my first appointment here the hygienist took photos of my teeth to have on file. Actual photos, not x-rays. Dr. Eric then reviewed the photos and took more information as to my dental history. These folks care!
