Shawn Boggs Counseling
We all need a little help from time to time. Shawn Boggs Counseling PLLC of Grapevine, TX, understands this better than anyone. We offer professional therapy services for marriage counseling, difficulties with pornography, and depression counseling. Hundreds have benefited from our comprehensive counseling programs that address every aspect of your life to find ways to make it better.

All it takes from you is a willingness to commit and a desire to improve! Counseling can carry an unwarranted stigma for those seeking professional help. The truth is, it is a medical practice designed to assist in the overcoming of psychological and emotional problems. It is no different than seeking out a surgeon when you need to get your appendix removed.
Services
Shawn Boggs Counseling PLLC of Grapevine, TX, was founded in 2011, when Shawn decided to open his own counseling center. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and has over 20 years of clinical experience. Though he specializes in marital distress and pornography addiction, his services extend to treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, premarital counseling (Prepare Enrich Test), self-esteem, family therapy, and singles' concerns.
I have known Shawn Boggs for 20 years and can attest to his outstanding character and trustworthiness. He is a skilled and compassionate therapist and I have relied on in expertise over the years. I recommend Shawn enthusiastically and without reservation. I have known Shawn for four years. He is a trustworthy, compassionate, and giving individual.
Counseling visits are $175 for a 55 minute consultation. I am an Out of Network Provider for all insurance companies. For those using their Out of Network benefit with their insurance companies, follow this simple process. If so, then ask what the deductible amount is to be met, what percentage of the visits is paid for, and the address to mail your receipt.
Shawn Boggs Counseling offers psychological assessments for teenagers and adults to assess problems such as depression, anxiety, marital distress, and premarital counseling. Assessments help the therapist learn a lot of valuable information quickly and early in treatment, increasing relief for patients.
Depression can manifest itself in many ways. A person does not need to be showing physical signs, like self-abuse or acting withdrawn, to be experiencing depression. Many are taught to hide it, to find happiness on their own. But, when you have been in the darkness for so long, it becomes all you know.

I hate to be the first negative review but when I contacted Shawn Boggs months ago BY EMAIL ONLY he was not helpful at all. I have a Master’s degree in Family Studies and do not need continual counseling. I only wanted one appointment from a CHRISTIAN counselor for guidance. Shawn has an excessive amount of new patient paperwork (about 15 pages) to fill out and one of them states “We will not use or disclose your psychotherapy notes without your prior written authorization except for the following....for training our staff, students and other trainees. We may disclose your health information

I was not fortunate enough to be able to see Shawn Boggs as he is not accepting new patients, but it's always important to me to make note when I meet a good person and Shawn Boggs definitely is one. I reached out to him on a Sunday via his website because he had such good reviews on Google. Shawn responded the same day and said that, unfortunately, he wasn't taking on new patients. When I asked him for referrals he was kind enough to send us a list of three (3) individuals he recommended and we were able to make an appointment with someone else instead of having to start our search all over again

Shawn helped my husband and I save our marriage. We came to him already separated and on the brink of divorce with the hope that we could either reconcile or at least learn to navigate a divorce amicably. Reconciling seemed like a tall order for the kind of shape our relationship was in, but Shawn helped us listen to each other again. He helped us empathize with each other and learn healthy ways to disagree and resolve conflict. He taught us the importance of giving each other the benefit of the doubt and showing each other grace. He taught us how to prioritize our concerns and pick our battles

Shawn was a blessing to our marriage. We had become very complacent with our routines and forgot to communicate our needs verbally. These sessions allowed us to find a way back to “US” and stop focusing on the me. Our relationship is stronger and happier than we have been in a while because Shawn taught us how to communicate and listen to our spouse for their needs. We will keep him on speed dial if we forget again. Thanks again Shawn.

Got us in right away. Very sensitive to our problem and addressed our concerns with a positive and kind hearted attitude. He was always in a good mood and always looked for different ways to approach any obstacles we may have encountered. We would use him again in a heartbeat!

Shawn is an awesome counselor. He is very easy to talk to and has many suggestions to help solve problems. He always gives homework assignments which helps to give everyone something to work on. He is very caring and is truly interested in helping people. We could not have found a better counselor to help us. I also know his door is open should we need him again.

Shawn not only listened to what I was saying, but heard me as well. He had a way of assisting in my ability to see different perspectives. I appreciated his insightful suggestions and 'homework'. I found when I applied what he suggested a favorable response was given. Go figure. Shawn is an honest man as he didn't continue taking my money. When he felt our time was through, he let baby bird out of the nest. I'll definitely use him again should the need arise in the future.

Out of the four therapists I have seen over the last 8 years, Shawn has by far been the most helpful. He is incredibly kind and honest and is much more than just a place to go to vent and get some things off of your chest.
His constructive approach to therapy is invaluable. Shawn truly has the gift of not only identifying a problem, but also explaining, applying, and illustrating a solution in a simple and direct way. I can't recommend him highly enough.
