Services
New Millennium Engineering, Inc. (NME) has a proud tradition of providing Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services for public infrastructure projects throughout Florida. Our Firm's experiences have been earned "on the job" working on a wide range of infrastructure projects including, Limited Access Highways, Urban Arterial Roads, City Streets, Water/Sewer Systems (force and gravity), and Bridges (major and minor).
Due to the demand on South Florida's most congested Interstate, FDOT presented this "first of a kind" Express Lane concept via the USDOT Urban Partnership Agreement and obtained funding to implement the first phase of this monumental project. The project included 2 phases of the Express Lanes from Miami to Fort Lauderdale, spanning 21 miles.
This Project consisted of the reconstruction of a major bascule bridge over Indian Creek in Miami Beach, which provides a major thoroughfare for traffic coming from the City of Miami mainland accessing the City of Surfside, Village of Bal Harbour, and Sunny Isles. The bridge was maintained operable during construction to prevent impact to commercial and pleasure crafts; close coordination with the US Coastguard was required.
New Millennium Engineering is providing Construction Oversight Services to FDOT District 5 for the I-4 Ultimate Project. The project consists of the makeover of 21 miles of I-4 from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County. 140 permanent bridges are being constructed consisting of 53 new bridges being added, 13 widened, and 74 being replaced.
This 1622 Calendar Day Project provided improvements to the mainline such as roadway widening and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, and slope correction. Bridge widening took place utilizing several foundation methods including both steel (pipe and H) and concrete piling. The superstructures required the new AASHTO beams to match existing conditions.
