Since 2003, Dr. Toomey has set out to create the kind of dental practice he'd always imagined: a high-tech, low-pain facility with happy and professional staff, in a beautiful office setting. It is exciting to look back and see that his vision has become a reality. Going to the dentist is no longer scary today.
I've chased a more youthful appearance for the past 15 years with botox, fillers and facials. NOTHING compares to what my new smile has done for me! I knew from the beginning when two trusted dental specialists, an orthodontist and a periodontist, both recommended him, that Dr. Toomey would be there for me throughout my 2 year process.
Anytime changes to several of the front teeth are considered, Dr. Toomey offers his patients the option to have a Smile Design created. This allows the patient to "try-on" their new smile before deciding to proceed. We begin the process in our office, so that Dr. Toomey can effectively communicate his goals for your smile to the lab.
Laterals are the teeth on either side of your front teeth. A significant number of people have permanent laterals that look too small for the mouth, giving the front teeth the appearance of being too big or long. In reality, if you enlarge laterals to the size they should be, a beautiful smile can be created with minimal work.
Some people naturally have gums that extend farther down their teeth than others. This creates the appearance of a "gummy" smile. At Toomey Dentistry in Towson, we evaluate your bone, teeth and gums, to determine if tissue reshaping is right for you. If you simply have excess tissue, your gum line can be carefully sculpted to create just the right proportion between gum tissue and the tooth.

Dr. Toomey has my highest recommendation. After suffering from TMJ for 15+ years, I had given up hope on non-surgical treatments. I made an appointment with Dr. Toomey as a last resort after receiving a recommendation from a trusted source. I first saw Dr. Toomey in October. Over these past few months, I have seen a dramatic improvement in my TMJ. I don't wake up in pain anymore. He has increased my jaw opening to a normal range, and I have minimal clicking and clacking and grinding and all of the other noises! I am still in treatment with Dr. Toomey and am excited to see what else is to come.

I have so much appreciation and respect for Dr. Toomey and his staff. Ever since September 2020, my jaw has been locked despite physical therapy for 4 months, a steroid pack, a muscle relaxer, and mouth-guard adjustments at my regular dentist. I went to Dr. Toomey's office and, right from the start, the office is clean and the staff is beyond friendly. I had a variety of diagnostics performed and the visit lasted about 2 hours total. I just became a patient at Toomey Dentistry in March 2017 and I cannot be happier with the results. I came to Dr. Toomey with questions about TMJ syndrome. He took the time to get to know me, my history and answer all of my questions. The results of my therapy were beyond my expectations. I have to say that I am so impressed with Dr. Toomey and staff. After years of hating the dentist I can finally relax when I have dental work done. After my first cleaning I knew that I was in great hands. Dr. Toomey and Donna identified some things that were causing discomfort and were actually able to correct the issues that same day for instant relief!!! I suffer from TMJ soreness and pain, and Dr. Toomey and his excellent assistants have helped reduce my pain by fitting me for a custom Night Guard which I LOVE and can't sleep w/out! I never knew that my clenching and grinding of my teeth at night was causing my jaw pain. I just thought it was something to live with. My headaches and jaw soreness have greatly been relieved due to the use of the night guard. Thumbs up to a great practice!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Toomey's for 13 years. He was able to figure out why I was breaking teeth and needing root canals. He has evened out my bite and made a guard for me to wear and I have not had one broken tooth since. Now that's a great dentist in my book. The office is very nice and all of the people that work there are terrfic. I recommend Dr. Toomey and his office to everyone.

I think Toomey is more interested in the revenue figures for his office than he is in patient care. He added a procedure, while fixing a filling which broke. A filling he had done recently. It added $1546 to my bill. A procedure that I had specifically rejected in the past. Occlusal bite adjustment. He did so without my knowledge or consent.
He seems to think that just because he's the doctor that he is the smartest guy in the room . . . I never found that to be the case.

So I had a tooth that needed to be extracted. My dentist referred me to 2 people who could not see me for 2.5 weeks (lets not talk about the one who told me mid April).
I was referred to Dr. Toomey by my trainer (Chris from Sweat Performance Center). I spoke with Dr. Toomey and was able to see him THE NEXT DAY!
Like most people I hate going to the dentist but this was by far the best dental experience in my life. I was greeted by friendly staff members, the environment was beautiful, Dr. Toomey explained everything to me and assured me that I would be as comfortable as possible during my procedure
