Dragging yourself out of bed to get ready for another day, thinking and hoping, "Today will be different." But it's another day where the person reflected in the mirror is unrecognizable. Why did all the joy and happiness in life vanish? Each day seems harder than the last. Each thought and decision feels like it's coming from someone else, like watching a play of your life but you didn't write the script.

Friends, co-workers and loved ones think all is well in your life, but each day is lived in a haze of overwhelming emotions and anxiety. Thoughts like "How the hell did I get here?" Life is not always easy, and during difficult times our inability to navigate the obstacles and challenges can cause feelings of resentment and discontent.

Your choice to seek therapy is the first step in making yourself a priority and changing your life to where you want it to be. Some memories are tucked away while others feel as if they happened yesterday. These events become stored as particular thoughts and feelings in your own personal "mind file."
My approach to therapy is quite simple. It's entirely about you! You have come to therapy for a specific concern or purpose, so the focus of our sessions will be dictated by your needs. We will work together on defining your goals and how best to achieve them. I believe that therapy can be lighthearted and positive.
Do you find yourself making decisions based on others' feelings rather than your own? Maybe you feel resentful about your circumstances, but you don't know how to make things better. Seeking help with a therapist is a great way to get the one-on-one unbiased attention you need and deserve. Therapy can help you navigate and face life's challenges as well as help open a new way of thinking.
Pain has many faces. It can be acute pain which is a direct response to an injury, such as the pain from breaking a bone or having surgery. Then there is chronic pain which is more long lasting and debilitating. It develops due to an injury but has the added complexity of sticking around long after you have healed from your initial injury.
It's no wonder so many of us react to the world's overwhelming assaults with anxious feelings. From negative news to excessive social media usage, it seems we just can't escape. Daily symptoms of worry, tenseness, racing and anxious thoughts, not to mention physical symptoms of racing heart, shortness of breath, trembling and lightheadedness are overwhelming.
