This program is designed to help the older adult increase their muscle mass and stamina, develop strength, improve their balance and tone all muscle groups alternating from a standing position to a chair or while remaining seated. Workout 1 is used with weights and can be done seated or standing next to a chair to help tone major muscle groups.
She is an active AFAA Group Fitness instructor, and American Senior Fitness Personal Trainer and holds a Healthways Accreditation for Older Exercise. Susan also holds several specialty certifications in the health and fitness field. Certifications include Pilates, yoga, Silver Sneakers, Step, Bootcamp and Zumba.
I have tried both a pilates and a yoga DVD produced by other sources before, and could never get enthused to continue beyond the first experience with them. Susan's "Chair Pilates" is wonderful, and perfect for an older person with leg and foot problems which I have. I love it. I recently also tried her "Breath of Yoga".
