Jefe's Tacos & Tequila

The food and margaritas were outstanding, but the staff was the most impressive. I've been in the service industry for 10+ years and I was amazed by the teamwork I saw. Everyone working was friendly, had the proper sense of urgency for a busy Friday night, and genuinely seemed like they wanted to be there. If I didn't live an hour away, I would want to join this staff!

Three words - toasted coconut margaritas. Thank me later. Excellent fresh food, delicious cocktails and tacos. This local spot will receive our repeat business time and time again.

Great food. Amazing drinks and atmosphere. Great for a weekend watching the game. Good for family but very loud.

Super cool spot. They always play 90’s hip hop and service is fast and friendly. They have a lot of creative tacos and some nice vegetarian options. Not what I’d consider “traditional” Mexican food but super good!

Love this place to death. I would say the best happy hour in northern Colorado! And I have lived here my whole life. amazing staff, the bar manager rylie Is one of the nicest people you will meet. have dinner there you will not regret it !

I have been here several times. Meeting friends for lunch and dinner. I love the food, service, margaritas and guacamole. The chips are awesome too. They are thick and homemade. Everything I have tried here is good. The chimichanga is wonderful and my favorite taco is the red snapper. I would highly recommend Jefe's!

We ordered pickup from here and sat at the bar for a beer while we waited, but we will definitely be back to dine in person soon! The bartender was extremely well versed in Mezcal, and was excited to talk about it with us while we waited. All the tacos we ordered were amazing, and I appreciate that most of the meat is locally sourced.

If I was younger this would definitely be a place that I would go to often. Place was packed for a Sunday afternoon. Staff was very friendly. Tacos were good but lacking a little. There was about a tablespoon of meat on each of my three tacos that cost $16.

This is a cool place. It is a little pricey. The Pain Killer drink is delicious, but cost $11. Just be prepared for the bill. All the food was very good though.

I don't understand how this doesn't have a 5/5! I LOVE this spot. Anytime people ask me for recommendations for food in Longmont, Jefe's is always on my list.

Their tacos are phenomenal. The Buffalo cauli and the pork taco are my fave. I also love the queso and chips and the carne asada fries!

The coconut Margarita is literally sent from heaven. This is my favorite cocktail I have EVER had. It is so creamy and toasty and delicious. I have never had one like it.

They also have the best atmosphere. Tons of tables outside. The inside is super cute with fun decor and lots of fun

Jefe's used to be one of our favorite haunts! We are Celiac and it was a super safe place to eat. Since Covid hit, it is one of the few places that still dies take out, so we were grateful. However, Jefe's has gone way down hill. Our takeout orders are always wrong. They forget items we ordered, the give us the wrong food, the staff is rude and dismissive. When you get the food home it's a hot mess. My husband had to go back three times one evening just to get the items that were forgotten. The management did compensate us for that meal and so we continued to give them a chance

Jefes was so good! Lots of vegan options. First, straight up vegan options are marked on the menu as such. Examples are the escabeche (house-pickled jicama, carrot, jalapeño & onion) or chips + guac or salsa.

Second, many of their tacos and burritos can be made vegan with a choice of vegetable (squash, cauliflower, avocado). We had the street tacos with squash and The Legend burrito with the cauliflower (no cheese). Any burrito can also be turned into a chimichanga (fried up and topped with guacamole & pico de gallo). 2 out of the 3 times we’ve ordered from Jefe’s, the order has been incorrect. Once, we were missing one of our items. The other time, there was cheese on both burritos despite the receipt for both of them specifying “no cheese”, one even with a sharpie drawn arrow pointed at it. The one time we did get our order correctly, it was delicious! I don’t think we will become frequent patrons here, unfortunately.

I don't know why this isn't rated higher - this place is so good.

Birria taco is outstanding.
Honestly, everything I've had is excellent.

Tacos are really good. House Margaritas are good too, if you want to have a light drink. Don't forget to check out their range of hot sauces; they are not just hot (or mild), but they have some good flavor as well.
I am definitely visiting this place again, to try some other tacos and other items on their menu!

This place was delicious. Like text my friends and family they need to come here immediately kind of delicious. We tried a little bit of everything with the chips and dip sampler and the Margarita flight. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were also unique and delightful. I'd say a must have if coming here. The marisco taco and the birrio tacos were our favorite tacos! Would highly recommend.

Well that was delicious. Excellent tacos, margs, menu options, and service! We had like 5 types of tacos and ceviche and a margarita flight. All wonderful. (I didn't personally love the chewy fish in the ceviche, which I wasn't used to personally,
but I did love the shrimp in it and all the rest of it- delicious chip bowl and veggies). And good service even while it was busy. Fun atmosphere. I will be back for sure.

Well......definitely surprised me. 4.50$ dollar tacos! Now don't get me wrong That would be ok if they are served with a full/generous portioned filling, on a HoT tortilla. Not enough meat, old meat. Also the tacos are not equally served. Jefe 7$ cooler is an expensive fanta tasting drink without the fizz. Ordered an appetizer it came out about 23 minutes I'll add that was about 8-10 min AFTER the meal. It wasn't busy Imo for tacos where the meats are probably pre cooked it took way too long.

I am a frequent flyer at Jefe’s. There are several things that keep me coming back. The atmosphere, delicious food, and of course Longmont's best margarita are just a few!!

We went for happy hour. Great service! Super tasty drinks. The street tacos were $1. Free cheeeps and salsa. How can you go wrong?

My favorite was the street taco barbacoa.

I got my birria and squashacado tacos jefe style. Which means they stuff all of the cheese they could possibly find in between tortillas and then grill it. So it's amazing.

Rip Off unless you are looking for Overpriced Food & Drinks with Poor service. Jefe's is more concerned about looks & "vibe" than anything else ot seems.

Food:
We tried 5 different tacos. They tasted OK, nothing wrong but for the $4 / $4.50 they were nothing special. They looked nearly the same (amount of meat) as the $2.50 street tacos we saw others eating.

The smothered burrito was pretty good but totally overpriced... $14 for a burrito that was average size without any sides (no beans, rice, salad, etc). More like an $8 item, $10 with sides.

Wonderful spot! Great service! Was here yesterday with family and enjoyed everything. Margaritas were on point (and strong), food was flavorful and workers were great and attentive. Ordered multiple different margaritas, street tacos, burrito, nachos with salsa and the ceviche especially was amazing! I believe all their meat comes locally sourced and organic. Also liked that they donate 30% of their profits to the community and their own workers. You don't see that too often where I'm from. Sorry I was too excited, hungry, and ate too fast, didn't have time to take pics but got one

First time here and I love it. Place was jumping, so service was a bit slow. The food was great, nice heat, perfect portions, and beautiful presentation. Definitively a place I will come back to.

I could eat tacos every day. REAL tacos. I am pumped to report that Jefe's is legit! We had a fish taco, carnitas, cauliflower and chorizo and egg. GAH. I already want more! Decor inside is soooo fresh and creative. Do t miss this place! I'm going back tomorrow...

Fun place with great energy and a cool vibe and music. We waited a bit for a table. When we'd been waiting longer than what we were told, we asked the hostess how much longer. It was obvious she forgot about us but we were immediately seated. Our server was Caitlen. She was friendly, personable, energetic and hard working. She was busy but still managed to give us great service.
