I am a portrait photographer in San Jose, California. On my 20th birthday, I was generously given a camera, and have been taking photos non-stop ever since. There is nothing I love more than capturing what makes a person special. Most would describe my style as light, vibrant and genuine. When I am behind the lens, I make sure to create a comfortable space where you can let yourself go and be free so I can get photos that showcase the real you.
Senior year of school--be it high school, or college-- marks a multitude of life's milestones which is why it's important to stop and capture the moment! Senior photos are all about YOU and your accomplishments. Oftentimes we don't ever take a break in life, but senior photos allow us to relax, enjoy the successes, and reward yourself!.
Dominic and Kasey met at In-N-Out, so of course, they had to have an In-N-Out wedding photoshoot!. My boyfriend and I had a great experience doing a couple photoshoot with Carla. She was responsive and proactive when it came to confirming the shooting date, time, and location. We admired how responsible and professional Carla was and how hard she was working once she got into her work mode on site.
Pregnancy is an incredible process, it requires strength, passion, and love. It represents a new life, and the growth of the family. That's why it's so special to have a maternity photoshoot, to show how beautiful and strong you are during the process. Oftentimes we don't ever take a break in life, but a maternity session allow us to relax, enjoy the process, and reward yourself!.
I had a wonderful experience with Carla! She was very accommodating and quick with her communications. She made the whole process easy and efficient but didn't lack any of the skill. Her photos really are brilliant! And she isn't just trying to snap your pictures and move you along your way. She really cares about getting your photos right the way you want them.

Carla was extremely professional and easy to work with. I had never worked with a professional photographer before and was apprehensive about the whole experience but she made me feel incredibly comfortable! She was easy going and talked me through the whole process. Her editing and photoshopping was incredible! I will definitely be using Carla again in the future!

Carla did an absolutely outstanding job! She was such a pleasure to work with both at the photoshoot and while setting up an appointment. She was so responsive and was flexible with my schedule to find a time that worked.
The photos exceeded my expectations in every way! They were exactly what I was hoping for and more and I am so thankful that Carla was there to capture the moment. I seriously doubt that anyone else could have done nearly as good of a job. I can't wait to recommend Carla to all of my friends!

Very personable and was able to help with my limited availability and short window to get Maternity photos done.

Carla did my grad photos and I absolutely loved how they turned out! I’m really picky with my photos but after my one hour session I had no problem choosing 15 :) The frames/angles she chose as well as the edits were perfect! She also did an amazing job recommending poses that would shoot well and giving suggestions of props to bring beforehand. I ended up using biodegradable confetti and champagne like she mentioned, which added some good variety. I’ll definitely recommend Carla to anyone looking for professional photos!!

Carla completely exceeded my expectations! I chose her for my graduation photos because I love her editing style and her gorgeous shots. I totally threw additional requests on her (with enough time to plan for it, of course) and she was extremely kind and flexible regarding my requests. I was able to take individual grad photos, photos with my boyfriend, and photos with each of our own families all within one shoot. Carla did it efficiently and it was so much fun!

Carla is great! She’s very knowledgeable about photography, and to top it off she’s very creative too! We met so she could take pictures of my baked goods, and we ironed out exactly what I wanted. She gave great advice concerning what photographs best, and then took into consideration what style and theme I wanted to capture. Honestly she nailed exactly what I was looking for the first day, with the test shots. Can’t wait to shoot more!

I was in search for a photographer for my graduation photos and my cousin has told me to check out Carla.
Carla is a natural when it comes to photography. She listens to what the client wants, as well as suggestions and tips when you are stuck on what to do. She is also very responsive, on time, and very easy to work with. Trust me, after a few shots, you can comfortably take some photos! This is coming from someone who never done a photoshoot before.

I was very hesitant before booking a session with Carla. I have never been one to be in front of the camera and I wasn't sure how to act or how to pose or really what to do. I was also hesitant because I was only graduating from community college; no one takes photos from just a CC. I was really lucky to stumble across Carla Photography as I was looking to get a graduation gift for my sister with reasonable price. She was very responsive and accommodating of such a short notice and the pictures turned out BEAUTIFULLY! We ended up choosing 25 pictures since everything was so nice.

Carla is an amazing photography and very quick to respond to requests. If she can make me look good she can definitely make you look good!
Not to mention while she gave me a quote of 7 days for the average length of photo processing, however it took about 3 days for her to finish them and the quality is far above and beyond what I expected. I highly recommend her!

My graduation photo shoot experience with Carla was awesome. I went on yelp to try and find a photographer that was willing to take my graduation photos near my school (SJSU). I became worried about finding the right photographer for me because most photographers that I messaged took a long time to respond and the ones that did respond charged between $250 and $500 for a package of 5-10 photos (talk about expensive). As a college student, I was looking for an excellent photographer that was willing to charge what I could afford at the time and luckily I found Carla D.A. Photography!
