790 On The Gulf
My husband and I used 790 on the Gulf and their Summerchase Room to cater our wedding this past weekend. We could not have selected a better cater. We are a party of vegan, vegetarian, seafood allergy, and meat eaters. Ms. Christine, manager assisted me with making an amazing buffet menu to accommodate everyone's needs.

Everyone loved the food, it was well seasoned. The best part was their catering attendants, they were professional, attentive, giving the best service we could ask for. I highly recommend 790 o the Gulf for catering needs. They made our wedding dinner perfect.

Out of all the locations that were available I was so happy we chose 790!! The drinks were absolutely exquisite and our server was top tier!! The appetizer and salad was enough to fill me up. The main dish had me ready for a nap!! 10/10 we have to back to try the desserts

Let's start with service, it was awesome-Aubrey was our server & was very knowledgeable about the menu. We shared the seared tuna . It was ok to me but hubby really liked. I had green beans & fingerling potatoes (I know I eat weird). Hubby had the gumbo trio & he really enjoyed. The dining room was so clean bright. Very nice. Will definitely return.

Great new restaurant! Loved the prior beach location but the new location is cute and cozy. Our waitress, Haylee M, was very sweet and super attentive. Food was delicious. Will definitely return. Thanks for a great experience!

No longer 790 on the gulf, just 790. They have moved. Went for New Years Eve. The $40.00 special had small chunks of scallops that tasted fishy and old. It was supposed to be large sea scallops. The fillet with tortellini was good but the Alfredo was thin and the presentation was sloppy. The eighteen year old server didn't know how to open the wine, (probably shouldn't have been serving alcohol). Overall a $50 meal for $100.00.

I have been going to 790 for many years, dating back to when it was called 790 on the Gulf and located on the beach in Crystal Beach. I was therefore anxious to try it after it moved into the old Jim n Nick's location. The grand opening in the new location was this past Monday, December 27, 2021.
Anybody who was familiar with the old Jim n Nick’s will notice right away that the layout has not changed at all. This is a good thing though as it was a nice floorpan for a restaurant. The bar and a seating area surrounding it is on your left when you come in with the main dining area to the right

We sat in the patio and the view of the beach was beautiful! The tuna appetizer and soup was good. Both entrees left a lot to be desired, very underwhelming to say the least. The crab cakes were mushy (we've had crab cakes up and down the east coast and these were the biggest let down) and the shrimp were a little rubbery. Expected a lot more of the food, will not be going back for dinner. Would suggest appetizers though, but definitely not eating dinner there. As long as you stick with appetizers and drinks you should be okay. The server was nice but I think she was having an off night. Lastly

Went for Happy Hour. One of the best high end Happy Hours in Destin. Amazing view of the water. Mussels and Seared Ahi were both amazing. Not a pizza & burger Happy Hour. Two food plates and two drinks each was $45. Totally worth it and will go again in their new location. Hit this place up before they move.

Went here for Sunday brunch yesterday and had a fabulous time. Jess was our server - super attentive and friendly! The food was fantastic and reasonably priced and the $15 endless libations were on point!

The view outside is incredible and worth going for! I ordered the wedge salad, corn, bacon and crab bisque, and the Mediterranean Seafood pasta that had scallops and grouper. Not sure I would order the pasta again. It was good but not great. The bisque and wedge were amazing though. We also shared key lime pie and the Limoncello cake which were both A+.

We dined here Saturday evening for my birthday. The location right on the gulf is beautiful! The food is good but the service was terrible. We had reservations for a table for two outside. There was probably 10 tables for two outside and nobody was sitting at any of them. We were taken to the one dirty table and had to wait for it to be "cleaned". We asked for another table but the hostess said they were all reserved. The entire time we were there only one of those had customers seated. The menus were dirty and the paper drink menus crumbled. We were not told about happy hour, what that

This place was super yummy and the atmosphere was remarkable for a date night with my husband while on vacation. We enjoyed a wonderful shrimp dip recommended by our server as well as a great fish dish with wonderful sauce on top. Would highly Te commend this place and excited to visit again when in the Destin area

Save yourself a lot of money and make your own picnic on the beach. There is nothing special about their food, service or drinks. I can make better steaks and fish at home. Their prices are all about their location. If you want to charge more than $400 for dinner for 3 then step up your game. I was expecting something wonderful and it was not.

This was a great spot for our 1 year anniversary. My husband loved the BBQ shrimp pasta and I got the filet mignon tortellini and we both loved what we got. It is a little more pricey than a typical Destin restaurant, but the food and beach location make it worth a visit.

This is a really mediocre restaurant. The views are great and it is probably the only place that has bottomless mimosas, but the food is below par. Our waitress was really cool and nice, and she gave us all the juices to try with our mimosas.

The lobster dip is excellent. I would order this for sure, but all their entrees were not tasty. I ordered the bbq shrimp pasta, which was extremely watery and heavy. My friends ordered mahi-mahi and other entrees, and no one was impressed with their choices. Food is pretty overpriced, but for the views, this is still a good choice to go to.

If you're a hopeless romantic, like myself, looking for a place to have dinner on the beach, this is the place !! We did the Dining in the Sand experience and it was absolutely incredible! You have the sound of the ocean, the view of the sunset, very nice and private to enjoy each others company ! The food was great! The customer service was outstanding! If you get to choose your server we recommend you ask for Joe! He's such a sweetheart and very attentive to our needs and at the same time just let us enjoy our dinner as a couple! We highly recommend this place and would definitely come back again

Visiting for a few days and wanted a quiet place instead of where everyone else goes! We found this gem and were happy we did!! Service and food were excellent! I also loved the decor! Tasteful colors, updated tile and lovely, wine bottle filled with fairy lights on each table. I found this restaurant on Yelp and tho it is supposedly $$, it really is more expensive than that. No worries tho, my husband and I share plates anyway to help keep us from over indulging. Definitely recommend if you are like us, and want good local food without all the touristy waits and abundance of fried food

Amazing food! Pricing was good for the portion size. We did outdoor dining which was very nice & peaceful. Great place to go for a couples dinner. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Great view of the Gulf. Pepsi products for their drinks which is rare is the south!
